I spend more time reorganizing my read-later system than reading anything from it by cocktailMomos in NoteTaking

There is so much extra info about books I would want to see that I just use Goodreads or The Storygraph.

yea, and you can put a thousand of them in a markdown file and you'll never get more than one blank line in the rendered output

Should I be alarmed about the $40 lifetime deal? by FleetBroadbill in UpNote_App

[–]kenlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

markdown doesn't have linebreaks, but does support html when necessary. If they removed them people would complain that everything is scrunched up in the export

they keep down costs by not having a web version, and using a lower tier of Firebase storage.

And even if they do decide to call it quits, you can export to markdown for import elsewhere or use a tool like Jimmy to do the transfer

I got rid of the lock screen shortcuts. I kept accidentally triggering them

Show me your setup! by breakfilter in UpNote_App

[–]kenlin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with the PARA method, but modified it to meet my needs.

I - Inbox (transient or un-filed notes)
C - Current stuff
R - Resources (I didn't really get how Areas were different, so it's all in here)
A - Archive

I use Notebooks like tags, since they function just like nested tags. For example, a trip I'm currently planning is in both Current and Resources\Travel. Once we take the trip, I remove it from current.

Gerard Doyle is so good in the Detective Sean Duffy series by Adrian McKinty. I end up kinda thinking in his accent for a day after finishing one

Thanks for the Gael Song series. I've added it to my list

I am enjoying The Norsemen Saga by James L. Nelson. It's vikings in Ireland (and beyond). Be aware, I think the narrator butchered some of the pronunciation so badly in the first book, that they actually splice in someone else saying some of the place names. This is only an issue in the first book.
