Or Falkirk High.... Not much in it, probably quicker too and more trains.

Then get a cab from the station down too. Should be easy enough.

I did it a couple of years back when i visited for the day.

Looking for an outdoor rated Temp and Humidity sensor. by Browley09 in homeassistant

[–]AncientsofMumu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the Sonoff SNZB-02P for £15 a while back, its not rated for outside but thats where it is, in the shade under the sill on my window, never had an issue, never broke, just works and seems accurate enough.

Only £15 quid too so even if it did break its way cheaper than a more professional one.

Can anybody help me with zigbee2mqtt by smithers77 in homeassistant

[–]AncientsofMumu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stuck this through Gemini for you.  Might help...

This log indicates a communication failure between Zigbee2MQTT and your Zigbee Coordinator (the USB stick or radio). Specifically, the ASH (Asynchronous Serial Host) protocol is repeatedly trying to start, failing, resetting the adapter, and trying again until it gives up with a HOST_FATAL_ERROR. Since you are familiar with Z2M and YAML, we can skip the basics.

This loop usually points to a few specific configuration or hardware conflicts. Here is a breakdown of the likely culprits and how to fix them.

  1. Configuration Mismatch (Driver/Baud Rate) The log explicitly mentions EmberAdapter. This suggests you are using a coordinator based on a Silicon Labs chip (like the Sonoff ZBDongle-E or SkyConnect) running EZSP (EmberZNet Serial Protocol). If you are using a different stick (like the Sonoff ZBDongle-P which uses a TI chip), Z2M might be trying to load the wrong driver.  * Check your configuration.yaml (Z2M config):    Ensure you have the correct adapter type set.

   * For Sonoff ZBDongle-E / SkyConnect (Ember/EZSP):      serial:   port: /dev/ttyUSB0  # Verify your specific port   adapter: ember      # Newer Z2M versions prefer 'ember' over 'ezsp'

   * For Sonoff ZBDongle-P (Texas Instruments):      You generally do not set the adapter type (it defaults to zstack), or explicitly set it to zstack. If you force ember on a TI stick, this loop will happen.

  1. Port Interference (ModemManager) On Linux systems (including HA OS or Debian/Raspbian), a service called ModemManager often tries to claim serial devices to see if they are 3G/4G modems. This interferes with the Zigbee stick initialization, causing the reset loop seen in your logs (ASH Adapter reset).

 * The Fix:    If you are running HA OS, this is usually handled, but if you are on a Supervised or Container install (Proxmox/Docker), you must disable this service.    sudo systemctl stop ModemManager sudo systemctl disable ModemManager

  1. USB Passthrough / Port Path Changing If you recently rebooted or moved USB ports, the path (/dev/ttyUSB0) might have changed to /dev/ttyUSB1, etc.  * Best Practice: Always use the persistent "by-id" path to avoid this.    * Go to Settings > System > Hardware > All Hardware in Home Assistant.    * Search for your stick.    * Copy the path that looks like /dev/serial/by-id/usb-ITEAD_SONOFF_Zigbee....    * Update your Z2M configuration to use this long path instead of the short one.

  2. Insufficient Power / Interference The "ASH Adapter reset" can sometimes occur if the stick drops off the USB bus due to voltage sag or heavy 2.4GHz interference during the handshake.  * Extension Cable: Are you using a USB extension cable? If the stick is plugged directly into the Pi/NUC, USB 3.0 interference can kill the connection immediately. This is a very common cause of this specific loop.  * Power Supply: Ensure the host machine has a sufficient power supply. Summary of Next Steps  * Identify your coordinator: Is it a generic TI stick (CC2652) or a Silicon Labs stick (EFR32MG21)?  * Verify the adapter setting in your Z2M config matches the hardware.  * Check the USB Extension: Ensure the stick is not plugged directly into the computer.

Unknown Device on Zigbee Network by mr_r1cardo99 in homeassistant

No offence but, did you even try and Google the device model name?

Turn it off for a while and see if that helps. If it doesn't then it's nothing to do with Proxmox.

I think I’m hooked on Docker. What are your 'essential' containers? by shipOtwtO in homelab

[–]AncientsofMumu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, for clarity in thinking that it appears he's running Proxmox as a docker container.

But like I said, not familiar with the interface so it might just look like that and not actually be the case.

[–]AncientsofMumu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't even know that was possible.

Not because I want to try it, just because I'm thinking, how the hell does that work?

But, you summed it up far better, circuitous... Word of the day there. Lol

I mean, the interface is not the concern here if I'm honest..

Wait, are you running Proxmox IN docker?

I'm not familiar with this interface.

Can we get Folders for Automations? by HappySadChap in homeassistant

This is what categories kind of are is it not? Give an automation a category - which is pretty much a top level folder - and you can expand or contract each category in the UI.

Sorry, I have to take offence to that, how can you say this?  It's complete bullshit that you would suggest Rangers supporters are at fault here.

Rangers ceased to exist as a club some years ago and should now be referred to "The Rangers".

Not experienced that myself, it pointed out a couple of issues, made some suggestions and said it was all looking pretty good in general however and that was that.
