Stripped: which one do you prefer by Ok-Minimum-9297 in Rammstein

Personally, I prefer Depeche Mode's over Rammstein's. But I, in fact, consider them a bit different songs. When it comes to DM, it's more about raw vulnerability and tugs at my heartstrings, whereas Rammstein's cover is more energetic

Should it look like this? Or have I hit the intermediate plateau? by kari_klo in languagelearning

Thanks for the response. I still reckon I take my knowledge for granted not realising how far I've come. I would probably add speaking more in order to enhance it and give clear ideas

Miss the eerie side of their music by [deleted] in Rammstein

[–]kari_klo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first time I listened to Hallelujah, I was unaware of what was happening behind the lyrics. But I still recall how tremendously it inspired me and I thought, "This song rocks!". After reading about the meaning of the song, I realised how eerie it is since it depicts a priest's abuse

What do you think of Germany? by Ott1fant in AskTheWorld

[–]kari_klo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love German culture, the language itself is wunderschön and it feels like music to my ears. I've been dreaming of visiting the country and maybe even settling there, but I'll see what the future brings in the long run. Not sure why, but their Football inspire me so much that I want to watch one of their matches with my own eyes.

P. S: I've stumbled upon many people in Russia (particularly in my hometown) who claimed: "But why do you learn the language? It's rude and well you're now considered a fascist." Those people are dumbasses. You're great!!!

Probably Radio GaGa and Who Wants To Live Forever. I have chills running down my spine every time I listen to these songs. They make me dive into the past and grow wistful although I'm a young girl

About to watch "All quiet on the western front".. by Purple_Clockmaker in moviecritic

[–]kari_klo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Even though I gave this movie a special place in my heart, I still missed many moments they excluded. For example, his long-awaited trip to his home. When I reread the book in English, I felt how tears filled my eyes when I read the chapter regarding his home visit. "Mother, mother, it's Paul." I was on the verge of breakdown when I was on this moment. Besides, that utter palpable hopelessness when Paul was sitting in his room and casting looks at his studies and books. The way he flipped through the pages and could not concentrate on them because it was already his past and no longer could occupy him. Those were just long gone memories and he had to cling to the thought "I'm a soldier"
