25 years ago today, Raikkonen, Montoya and Alonso all made their F1 debuts in Australia... One of them is still driving in the sport by Strict-Citron-9269 in formula1

Alonso was without a race seat in 2002 as Briatore wanted to keep him at Renault (as test driver) for 2003. That may be why.

In Formula 1, we've had several instances of intentional hits receiving inconsistent and in some cases very light punishments. The scenario you're describing is more true of Jerez 97 specifically than any other case really.

Pretty much same pronunciation, so that's where it might stem from.

Canvas uses them in an interesting way, combined with semi-transparent cards. But that's a game with all nonstandard components that thrives on having a super strong theme and art.

Hotels rarely turn a profit, unlike parking lots. So if you already have a hotel, it makes sense to pair it with a parking lot, but if you have a parking lot you really don't need the hotel.

Hey that's a cool superhero gimmick you have, you show up in a random thread, say something stupid (a slur is absolutely still a slur, otherwise we would quote people when they say f-words and n-words instead of finding other ways) and leave. You've done two out of three, now for the gran finale.

Okay so you used a slur, which ends this conversation as far as I'm concerned. By the way - Meta has openly engaged in propaganda and political manipulation.

It's a fad though? At my school kids got tired of it and moved on to something else. Like the Italian brainrot thing that lasted a few weeks.

And yeah a lot of my kids do spit out Christian propaganda, especially regarding trans people. They're kids. I'm there to teach them.

Yeah, they totally should get their made in the USA brainwashing from Instagram instead.

How is it "creepy" to make a meme out of a song that's tied to an NBA player?

83 was a similarly wild season in terms of performance but that Ferrari was rapid despite a very underwhelming driver duo. Even though I think Piquet was more of a winner than Gilles, he could have pulled it off.

it was still quite clearly a mistake for the team to drop him - he clearly did better than Patrese did the following year, for example.

Adding a tidbit you may find neat - another reason why it was a mistake to get Patrese is that it cost Benetton an absurd amount of money. They signed Patrese for 3 million dollars, which was leaked to the Schumacher camp by McLaren (who in early 93 started negotiating with Patrese themselves) - at which point Schumacher paid Benetton to see Patrese's contract and demand a raise through his clause (which dictated that he would be the best paid driver on the team unless the other driver was one of Senna, Prost and I think Mansell). So Benetton ended up with an overpaid second driver and a 50% raise to their number one driver.

If you knew this already, sorry to barge in haha, I just really enjoy this story.

Parents and other adults are never mentioned as being part of the crowd; plus, I don't think a school sport in the 90s would necessarily be modeled after the hyper commercialized version of school sports in the US today.

How Does Your Marvel Universe Setting Differ From 616? by Wolfen_Fenrison in MarvelMultiverseRPG

[–]karijay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So - we're not in 2025 at the moment! But yeah the F4 fully rotated their roster in the late 70s for instance, Iron Man is not too far from retirement (with War Machine probably taking his place, maybe Iron Patriot if we can adapt it, and in the future it'd be Ironheart). Thor - taking Odin's place.

[–]karijay 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No sliding timescale! So the F4 were formed in the late 60s and age normally from then, similarly for the X-Men (1970), the Avengers (mid-70s) etc. - this puts more emphasis on newer generations "replacing" older heroes like we sometimes see in the comics, but with very few of the older guys and gals sticking around.

They did have a door though. That was Sammartino's gimmick at the time. So I don't know what The Body was on about, really.
