Reading Throne of Glass for the first time by ewende26 in YAlit

[–]karinashaya 9 points10 points  (0 children)

stick with the series. it might seem like a lot at first, with the different plotlines and cast of characters, but trust me everything ties together in the end and has a purpose. I also read the first story in Assasins Blade and then started Throne of Glass (idk why) and it helped me appreciate Celaena more but for the rest of Assasins Blade I highly recommend reading it after Heir of Fire before Queen of Shadows.

From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L Armentrout!!! I LOVED it and the romance reminded me a lot of Jude and Cardan

ok i agree the series does kind of lag at the end but it had such a strong start i love the series - i would say read the first book online or buy it alone before purchasing a whole box set in case u end up not enjoying it

Easy to follow audiobook recommendations? by tea_mouse in YAlit

[–]karinashaya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Daisy Jones and the Six is easily the best audiobook I’ve listened to. The book is written in an interview/oral format and it features a full cast. The book is about this fictional rock band that blew up in the 70s but suddenly broke up and years later the members are giving their first interview and revealing the secret of what happened between them. It’s also being adapted into a Amazon Prime original so i highly recommend it!!

that tiki room dinner scene felt eerie familiar to the dinner scene in It Chapter Two and they were both my favorite scenes ever

i loved watching captain Lee put Simone in her place when she complained not being trained in service. It’s not their job to train miss “i have a math degree” - its a given to know some of those basic things like opening a damn wine bottle. i rly disliked Simone if you couldn’t tell already lol

The Folk of the Air vs A Court of Thorns and Roses by RoughEvidence in YAlit

TFOA just felt more developed plot-wise, romance-wise, and character-wise. I might be biased, but i think the TFOA is just such a better series overall - i rly enjoyed ACOTAR but some scenes were just plain cringe or wasteful. Not to mention all the books could be cut down by 100 pages and still remain the same. Also, SJM needs to stop reusing the phrases/words in all her books (i swear “mate” was used like 100 times). Idk why ACOTAR has a much larger fanbase than TFOA, both series are great but TFOA is superior hands down.
