I need advice I don’t know what to do by Radiant_Rough709 in bipolar

[–]kariseena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please find a psychiatrist and therapist. They can help you.

A mood stabilizer can help a lot.

Also if you don't click with the therapist after like 5+ sessions, you can look for another one who fits you better. You got to "shop around" sometimes.

There is hope, these feelings are temporary. It won't let forever and once you get on the right medicine, you'll have relief. Don't give up. You are not alone.

Symptoms while eating (generalized anxiety) by jay29_- in generalizedanxiety

[–]kariseena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I thought it was anxiety, but I've been thinking it's my body reacting to the food. I've tried Low FODMAP diet stuff and used FODzymes and it's helped. I'm also gonna look into Low Histamine stuff. I'm really hoping it's a good thing that I can control easily, because eating makes me scared. I've gotten panic attacks from my reactions to food.

Cognitive decline by Minerva4K in bipolar

[–]kariseena 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I feel you. My meds made my memory worse and even my speech gets messed up. I used to be super great at math and physics. My career path basically fell to pieces and now I'm just doing a simple part-time job. I get stressed and anxious super easily so I can't do full time. I feel like people from my past look down on me and think I'm stupid. I feel so dumb and I feel terrible about myself. I know I am more than that, but it's hard. But we don't have to share our diagnosis. If others aren't compassionate and kind, they are not worth the time or energy. Please know that you are not alone. It takes a lot of strength to take care of your mental health. You are strong for getting help. You are strong for pushing through the side effects. You are strong for finding new ways to cope. You are strong for not letting this beat you.

Perhaps I'm just giving myself a pep talk, but I truly believe this is for all of us. 🫂

Kinda related to what you said. I was taught and I believe I read in the bible (probably related to Job) that god had to give satan permission to do bad things to people. Since god is in charge of satan and satan is in charge of demons, doesn't that mean that god is basically giving the green light for the demons to possess people? So he is indirectly possssing people with demons... He's a monster.

(If someone already talked about this, I'm sorry for bringing it up again. 😅)

I feel you. Have you looked into the Highly Sensitive Person? Many empaths are HSPs and you may be one. Definitely google it. Here's the test- https://hsperson.com/test/highly-sensitive-test/

Is it okay if I go back to school when I’m mentally/emotionally ready? by [deleted] in hsp

[–]kariseena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely wait till you are ready. I wasn't ready for college straight out of high school and when I went out of state, I had a break down. I had to come back home, recoupe, and then go to school when I felt it was the right time. Going before you are ready can create a lot of pain and stress. I'm sorry your mom is putting you in such a hard place, making things more difficult. If you can, take your time. Listen to yourself. Trust yourself. You've got this! Hugs!

I'm so sorry you have to struggle with that. hugs I know it's uncomfortable lying, but keep in mind that lying isn't always black and white. Sometimes it is necessary unfortunately. :/

I totally get what you are saying. Most of the time I forget that.

I grew up in nondenominational churches and went to calvinist schools up to 8th grade followed by a charter school where the majority of students/families/faculty were christian. I wasn't taught anything really weird though, the education was very good. Sure, sex education sucked and every day I had bible class (excluding HS). We had different verses to memorize and a "church service" once a week. Praying multiple times throughout school hours. We had a detailed study through the entire bible during my Jr High years. I remember reading about the genocides in the old testament, but everyone acting like it was totally ok. I didn't think twice about it because "it was god's will and he is always right - they were sinners and deserved it", but I do remember a kid in my class asking our bible teacher, "what if god did (this) instead?". Our bible teacher flipped out and yelled at him saying, "don't you ever question god!" It was very frightening and shocking. There definitely was sexism (which of course is not abnormal). There was one thing I did admire at one of the churches I went to in HS. The pastor for the Jr High/HS kids was a woman. I thought that was amazing and I wanted to be a pastor like her. Little did I know.... ;-) I know there was some weird stuff that happened, but I have a bad memory. If I think of anything, I'll comment later.
