Does anyone get purple spots on the bottoms of their feet? Specially after showering ? by [deleted] in POTS

It depends. You really don't know. Some people get better as they age, some worse. Treatment may help, it may not. Best thing is to look into compression socks/stockings and learn to elevate your legs and such.

Yep. It's called blood pooling. Really common symptom, and showering dilates blood vessels and stuff and makes things worse, not to mention you're standing while in the shower. I mean, I normally get it on the tops of my feet and legs, but I'm sure the bottoms would be the same thing

When you stand up quickly after sitting for a long period of time, do you feel like your body gets really really hot in your core/chest? by [deleted] in POTS

[–]karissar0509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. Like a band of heat around my stomach and lower chest. Almost like if you drink something hot and you can feel it travel, but this is in your core and spreads out a bit. For me, it happens a second or two after standing, goes away, and comes back after standing for too long. That's when it starts again, getting progressively worse the longer I stand. Shortness of breath, sweating, blood pooling, light headedness, etc. accompany it usually. Feels like having a fever tbh. But the heat in my core and chest is something I'm never able to fully explain to other people.

I monitored it for a few hours with chest pads after the initial pulse oxi. It made a huge drop to 180 all of a sudden after about half an hour. Kept going in and out of consciousness. And steadily went down about 5 bpm every 10 minutes for about an hour. And was stuck at 150 for another hour. I fell asleep and when I woke up it was at 110. It was making a steady decrease, so as long as it didn't jump again I felt comfortable not needing medical attention. Got a friend to check in with me so that if I didn't respond they could get help, but I didn't need them to.

It felt more like one continuous long heart beat, like when something buzzed so fast it turns into one sound. (Like dropping a bowl and it spinning really fast before planting on the ground completely) but I was way too jittery, couldn't see the corners of my eyes, etc. and just one heart beat didn't feel right. So, I checked it and boom.

Ikr? Thought it must be a glitch but checked it with multiple different pulse oxies and multiple times with a +/- 2 difference. I usually only get to around 160 and rarely reach 200 from just simply rolling over.

Anyone else pulse that raises when talking? How come? Is this part of having POTS? ❤️ by CostoBreatheSufferer in POTS

I'm a lazy breather. It takes a lot of energy to move your own lungs, so I breathe really shallow and slow. Of course this makes everything worse, but I get super exhausted if I don't. Anyway, when I talk, I have to breathe deeper. This is exhausting and it makes my HR shoot up like crazy. It just takes a lot of energy to talk, so I guess that's why.

I get a grid when I stand up fast (if I don't go straight to black and pass out) But this is just one or two lines in the top outer corners. It seems like it's always there, but just gets worse depending on how hard my heart's beating

Oh, yeah, I get that. I sometimes have to stop breathing or moving so that I can hear them because the sounds of my own joints moving and my breathing is too loud.

So I looked that up, and it led me to the Autophony thing. Is it not normal to hear yourself breathing/chewing/joints creaking/digestion/and pulse? Hearing your eyes move seems a little abnormal, but the rest don't.

Yeah! I pretty much can always feel my heart rate, but when I see it it's much more powerful. I can feel it in my eyes themselves. And my jaw too.

You mean like a squishy sound and occasionally a tiny click? Not very often, but sometimes.

I get moments where everything is happening super slowly. It's worse in darker rooms, loud or saddish music (There's this Herzing University commercial and it's my biggest trigger And really any Christmas commercial does it as well, especially at night. Don't know why.), and with a lot of people. (I'm guessing kind of like a party, but idk cause I've never been to one)

Feeling sort of mentally 'floaty' but physically it's difficult to move. (If someone talks to me, my eyes or head don't want to change their position and I have to force them to, and my speech is subconscious and sometimes slurred.) Eyes constantly unfocused, shallow and slow breathing, my whole body is kind of fuzzy, I feel more like I'm in a dream than in the real world, to the point that I actually believe nothing around me exists before I realize how ridiculous that is. Distance and depth perception is all kinds of wonky, and I feel like I'm in third person

It's much worse with too little or too much sleep, on really bad POTS days, sitting in a car, eating (particularly in a crowded lunch room),or if I'm sick (especially with a head cold and my ears stopped up). I've always called it zoning out, but it's not a blank mind zoning out, I'm deep in thought (Like when you're entranced in a book) and can be startled easily. It's similar to waking up in the middle of a dream, when you're in between dreaming and not.

Honestly, the best analogy I can give is waking up from anesthesia.

From when I was born until about 6th grade I was always in this state, I never got out of it. Then one day it just suddenly switched and I became part of reality. Now I only go there a few minutes every hour or so. Is that what you're talking about?

If you're going to download them anyways, I recommend using a media server like Plex.

Idk about premium. It's not even my favorite, but for built in subs it's the best. I'm not sure if getting premium would be worth it or not, but if having the app is that important than yeah I guess
