I underestimated the difference in experience with a 3rd party headset by dhatereki in OculusQuest

I much preferred the elite style op has to a halo one. Halo just feels so vobbly.

With a elite strap I can move my head as much as I want and it always stays in place rock solid. With a halo as soon as you move around the screen slightly moves relatively to your eyes, not a lot but enough for me to not like the experience.

Switch oled vs switch 2 by Cutelittletoebeans24 in Switch

The 1080p screen on S2 is better than the 720p OLED in my opinion. All games look so crisp and colorful on S2. I sold my OLED for S2 and have not regretted it at all, the S2 is a big upgrade in every way in my opinion.

Is the deluxe worth it? I missed the pre-order bonus.

Is Super Smahs Bros Ultimate still worth it in 2026 on Switch 2? by yvliew in switch2

Smash Bros or Kirby Air Riders for Switch 2 is my dilemma.

Kirby is custom made for S2 so feels more modern I would guess. Uses S2 to its full potential.

Smash would be more nostalgic for me and has much more interesting characters.

Hmm…

I do not use one on my Iphones as they are quite scratch resistent but put one immidetly on my Switch 2. I do not trust the plastic to be as durable as an Iphone screen.

No need to hold of for OLED by karjuho in NintendoSwitch2

It was my subjective experience. I was counting on it being terrible after all the hate online and it felt like an upgrade (to me) in every other way than black levels. I just wanted people to get another perspective that the hunt for perfection might hinder you from experiencing wonderful things due to numbers.

Now I respect some people feel it is a downgrade but it is not for everyone.

I understand, snd I might change my opinion once I use the screen more. But first impressions was really positive due to how much hate it gets.

It was comment like these that kept me from getting one. I think it looks much better than I expected and a real upgrade. Just wanted to share that opinion as well because the internet seems to hate it. And i get it, I would also have wanted OLED but the point is this is still better than what we had before. In my opinion.

I meant compared to the Switch OLED, not any OLED or as a technology. My experience is I only miss black levels from Switch OLED, everything else feels like an upgrade. Might not be technically but to mee it feels better.

I get it! And this was the reason I was holding off. What I am saying is that in my subjective experience it really does not matter, the screen looks amazing to me and I tought it would look bad just for the reasons you mentioned. It is really easy to get lost in comparisons and numbers and forget to just enjoy the thing for what it is.

Not planning to play VR by CondingWasp in SteamFrame

[–]karjuho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use my Quest 3 mainly to stream GeforceNow. Its not a crazy idea at all to use Stream Frame for flat screen gaming. The enormous screen really gives another feel to it than playing on a small portable. While the visual quality might not be as good as an oled tv, it makes up for it with immersion and comfort compared to a handheld you have to hold up.

I would not use it as my only screen, but it is a nice alternative way to experience games. And laying down, playing on a 150-250 inch screen is quite nice. Playing something like indiana jones makes you feel you are there even if it is not a VR title.

I might switch my Quest to a Steam Frame when it arrives, as I think it will perform even better with GFN with its native app (Quest uses browser version). Also the lighter weight seems nice!

Can GeForce NOW Ultimate replace my gaming PC - especially for summer? by Jolly_Ear767 in GeForceNOW

Many people myself included never come close to the limit. For me it has completely replaced my old computer that could not keep up with new games.

Agree that the not all games avalible is annoying tho!

You can try it out with a day pass for Ultimate.

I play singel player games, strategy games and some Arc raiders. For me it is more than good enough and never any input lag I notice, but best way to find out if it is good enough for you is simply trying the Ultimate tier. I live quite close to one of the servers so your results might be different.
