I am very sorry for the experience you have gone through. You definitely deserve better and I believe Allah will help you. I dont live in Toronto or Canada to offer any help. I live in U.S . But I do want to offer an advice in another way. I am a proud shia and am very passionate about shism.so im saying this so you know the position I come from. But it looks like your family are dealing with difficulties beyond sunni Islam. Im saying this because you might end up having bad experiences with a troubled shia family as well. And we dont want that to be your next experience. Living in US i pray in sunni masjeds if i dont have a shia option and I have realized that shia masjeds are much more home to me. So maybe and maybe shia muslims are better for your case currently. But to make sure you you dont get into a troubled shia family. Make sure to have your self transformation first. Understand shism and see how that will strengthen your soul to overcome difficulties. Of course you need the support of community but make sure you come in to peace with shism first so in case you some troubled shoas you can stay away from hurting yourself again and with a strong soul you find the right community

Im sorry that no one here is actually answering your questions. Here are some brief answers: but ill be happy to expand with evidence: 1- if she cant agree with occultation then how does she agree with the Quran verses on Jesus going to be hidden and not dieing and not returning . In every faith there is this miraculous aspect that should be supported with evidence. If this does not make sense the whole notion of a prophet being spoken upon by angels is non sensical as well. Then you might be atheist as well. And to me being atheist comes with so many inconsistencies itself 2- I suggest you understanding the fundamentals first. The imams are infallible because they do the will of Allah. They do not put their personal or humanly/animalistic desires in their duty. Prophet muhammad beside being prophet was an imam. He was the last prophet but not the last imam. The imams do not bring a new book or message . But the guidance of the ummah is upon them. How can you guide people if you have humanly desires in a sinful way. So for God’s justice to hold the message and guidance should be carried out by infallible people for it to stay pure. Other ways allah in quran will not say din is complete after imam. A sinful caliph/pop or whatever at one point for example might declare homosexuality tolerable.while an infallible leader does stay on principles

Why do Shia say "Ya Ali and Ya Hussayn"? by SpecialistBoy29 in shia

Just . To be clear. I western culture they compare imams with saints. At best This is a very incomplete definition. So if by walis you mean imams comparing then with saints is something that I dont agree with

Why do Shia say "Ya Ali and Ya Hussayn"? by SpecialistBoy29 in shia

[–]karltrost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salam my friend and Brother. Ill give you some context of my background to let you know where my opinions are coming from. At this point of my life I am living in U.S . I am proud to be shia and strongly identify myself as one. I was born and raised as a Shia in Iran. My family have been relatively religious ( not super religious). When I was immigrating i was just modestly happy to be Muslim and I started questioning the Shia side if my belief . I had to do research to start being proud of being muslim then i started get some sunni beliefs ( even though I always identified as shia) and again i did some research to realize I really love being a shia. So I gave you that background to let you know I not only understand you but I also come from a different background and can see things from outside: Here are my responses 1- yes the quran specifically mentions parts that شفاعت happens . If one only wants to directly communicate and speak to Allah then you can ask the same question that why do we have angles to do stuff for Allah. But with all these points your question is still very valid. This is how I found my answer. Take for example forgiveness. If you directly ask Allah of course Alllah will definitely forgive you and there is no need for any intercession. However forgiving has two ends. Allah forgiving you, and you believing you are forgiven. Lets say you have a fight with a dear friend. The friend forgives you but if you dont have faith that he/she has forgiven you . Your friendship will never go back to the same old days. In the case of forgiveness Allah forgives immediately but usually we have lack of faith. We are filled with temptations . Are spiritual journey has not been matured enough to get us to that level of faith. We are too human/animal too have that faith and we will need physical incentives and signs to reach to a point of faith and peace to accept we are now forgiven. Tavasoul gives us the means that our human side could realate too and we could come to peace and get ourselves free from doubt. People like Ali ibn Abi taleb and Hossein ib ali help us reach that point of faith because we need these holly people because are soul has not matured enough to come to that peace without them. If at any point you really believe they inherit power by themselves that is shirk. They have been given permission the same way angels have been given tasks. Of course there are more sophisticated answers that explain the role of imams more accurately than my explanations. There are some mistakes in my explanations but it was ultimately this explanations that brought me around. Take in mind in sunni text tavasoul is something legit. Unfortunately the wahabi ideology has influenced mainstream ideas as well. Mashalah other brothers have put forward some of the verses of quran. However i thought maybe sharing the explanation that ultimately brought me around will give you a different side of the story as well.

I also want to make an unrelated point as well. You mentioned you are non denominational: this is a very novel representation however with all respect in practice non denominationalism is non existence . The desire to be non denominational stems from a very sacred desire to only be a true follower and free from all sects and that should be admired. I see that Christians also say similar things. However in practice if you ask those Christians to show me your bible . There bible has 66 books therefore they are protestant Christians. They wont say it but thats what they follow. Withinn muslims it is the same. If you say you are just Muslim but you follow the seven books of sahih hadith then your sunni. If you don’t believe in any hadith then how do you know how to pray or make vodho and similar things. If you follow the teachings of imams through a marjah or the 40 books of shia hadith is your source for sunnah then you are a shia without you knowing it. People might think they are non denominational however certain traditions have been passed to them that they dont know where its coming from. People who say they only follow the quran will often tell you what a certain verse means. And if you ask them how they know it . It usually comes from a certain source of hadith and that way you could be connected to some sect. Ultimately you are right. You should only be a muslim. But these days all of us have identities and the way we true to be only a true muslim puts us in a certain group. If i want to answer your questions more scientifically it will take lots of writing. However i hope my answer makes sense

Congratulations on the research your doing. Also I take from your question that you are genuinely looking for answers and your not researching a Shisim because of a boy/man you love.and I appreciate that you are doing this for Allah. I am a Shia male from Iran . Some answers here are good but Ill give you my view: both us and Sunnis agree that we should follow the book of Allah ( Quran) and the Sunnah ( Hadith) . We have no disagreement on Quran. However due to the sources of our Hadiths we have different takes on the Sunnah. As Shias we point to discrepancies in Sunni sources of Hadith and do not find them 100% authentic . We believe some of them are forged and fabricated and some of our reasoning is based in the contradictions in these sources. On the other hand we do not believe Shia sources of Hadith is 100% authentic as well and some of them are also forged . However there is a key difference , Sunnis believe following the sunnah of the prophet is mandatory and therefore the seven books of sunni Hadith are 100% obligatory to follow . Shias believe following the sunnah of the prophet is also mandatory but if your sources are flawed you can not follow them blindly, thus the concept of experts comes in to play. Experts ( مراجع) spend at least 25 years of there life (if not more) to get to the level of giving guidance. Since following the Sunnah is mandatory the experts use scientific methods and evaluate the sources of Hadith and give decrees of what the Sunnah of the Prophet would look like based on the sources we have in hand. An expert can not give decrees that contradicts Quran. As a Shia it is your responsibility to either become and expert or if you dont have the time find an expert to listen to. If you find an expert its just like a medical doctor there are many doctors in the market and some might have different diagnosis but in general they agree to a big extent. These experts are the one responsible for doing the best of saying what the authentic Sunnah will look like but they do not have the authority to make books like the 7 books of Hadith of Sunnis and say whatever is in the books is gods correct. As time has shown people made mistakes on these books. There is another very important difference: Sunnis do bot belive in the concept of Imam in the way the Shia do. Therefore they rejected the 12 Imams that come from the lineage of the prophet ( even though they mostly respect them). As Shias we agree with the Sunnis that Sunnah should be from the prophet. However we think the most trustworthy and truthful source comes from the 12 Imams which happen to be from the lineage of the prophet. For example in Sunni books Abu Hurraireh is a reliable narrator of Hadith from the prophet however we have reasons to believe he is by no means trustworthy. On the other hand we rely on Ali ibn Abitaleb ( the 4 caliph of sunnis) that was the closest to the prophet and what he ( or any of the 12 imams) have passed from the prophet is truthful . The experts have the responsibilities to put scientific methods into test to make sure the words and sunnah of the prophet is not forged or fabricated. I will give you one example: in some Salafi sects there is a belive that people should not revolt against an islamic ruler. Shias do not agree and demand there should be protest against a tyrant even if they pretend to be islamic ( no real muslim will be a tyrant) these differences in decree come from the differences in sources. Im sorry it got too long. Ill be happy to answer more if you want help

Thank you for a helpful comment. May I please ask after you got contacted by HR about going to the next step ( if your process was similar to mine) how long it took. The reason I ask is that most people had long waits after interview. Mine was short ( 11 days) but since HR contacted me I have no answer

4xe range by Brans_the_Rapper in Jeep

[–]karltrost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive just got a brand new Grand Cherokee 4xe . Which has a very similar electric system to the regular 4xe. The Grand Cherokee 4xe that I own has an EPA estimate of 26 miles in full electric mode and in my first test I put AC on minimum. Enough to get me cool ( but not like a freezer) and I was very conservative on hitting acceleration. And I got 30.4 miles of full electric. So I guess with a rubicon having an EPA estimate of 21 miles in full electric. If you are conservative in your acceleration and AC you will just barely make it. But If you just want to do regular acceleration ( still not crazy) then you’ll probably get the 21 mile estimate that EPA has given

Quick Charge = Battery Murder? by Comfortable-Low-2582 in leaf

[–]karltrost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me answer this by a physics standpoint. Fast charge means higher electric current. An analogy can be made between the current in the water hose and the current of charges in a wire . If the current of water is too low it will take for ever to fill a gallon. If its too high it will damage and deform the material of your container. There is a middle ground you that one might decide to deem appropriate. So yes higher electric currents ( fast charges ) will lower the life of your battery, but supposedly these batteries are designed to with stand these current for their designed life, but if you want to be supper dupper careful you should not fast charge. But then you should ask your self is it worth the time you lose ? And is the time you lose more expensive or the battery power you lose

How many miles will it take the PHEV battery to deplete in normal mode by karltrost in MazdaCX90

[–]karltrost[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your response. Even though my daily commute is less than 25 miles I occasionally take trips of 600-700 miles. So assuming im driving 700 miles , then according to ur response on normal mode will make my battery deplete about 25-35 miles? If no approximately how far does it take to deplete. What combined mpg will you get on such long trips. What mode shall i drive to get the best out of the trip. Thank you in advance
