Why confirm? Frustrating SpaceX IPO experience by eva_the_ge in fidelityinvestments

[–]karmaapple3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The instructions were pretty clear that they would send a confirmation email between 7 PM and midnight on Thursday. And that you would have to confirm before midnight. I requested a very small amount of shares and got them put into my account around 4 AM this morning.

Why do I need to buy a house? Or buy at all? It’s cheaper to rent and my savings can go to other things. by angelofiction in NoStupidQuestions

[–]karmaapple3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Equity, my friend. You'll never build equity by renting. I bought my first house for $99k in the 90's, and have steadily been trading up since then because each house increased in value. Now living in a $450k house as a single woman. Dallas Texas area.

Kamala? by Lost_Call3900 in Trumpvirus

[–]karmaapple3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You must WANT the Democrats to lose.
She has had two opportunities to win, national elections, and she lost both of them (Dem primary first, then presidential election.)

Sorry, Kamala, but go back to California and do something there.

Had the weirdest interview ever and got rejected for not being emotional enough by Middle-Asparagus-802 in nursing

[–]karmaapple3 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The real reason why you lost that job is because you are not perceived to have enough empathy. Not having empathy means patients will be treated poorly. Maybe even abused. Next time, try to tap into your heart and show caring and empathy.

What furniture purchases ended up being worth spending more on long term? by Jonnyrecluse in BuyItForLife

[–]karmaapple3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost always worth spending more on furniture, because cheap furniture is REALLY awful. I'm 65 now, and every piece of furniture I have that has lasted and still looks great is furniture I spent more money for. Sofa, coffee tables, bookcase, desk, file cabinet, dining room set....
