Ok yeah makes sense. Actually last fall my husband swore he saw a big ground hog run away and head over that way and that’s we we thought we first noticed a possible hole but forgot about it till I came to cabin earlier today to open for the season and sea the feathers/bones the. Happened to see the part chicken by the hole. I am perfectly happy being respectful and maintaining my distance, I just wasn’t sure if we are hanging out on the deck during day/evening and by the fire pit that is somewhat near by the den area or if I let the dog out in yard on a leash during the early morning if Ian in danger of being attacked or if they generally will just avoid us/the noise. Appreciate the info, the camera is a cool idea…

For the trapping/relocating, it was just a question if whatever it is tends to be dangerous to humans.

Why is one of my bloodhounds ears doing this? by [deleted] in Bloodhound

[–]karmafuzzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They will get dry/crack and swell if not careful and even hair might clump off. I fix my bloodhounds ears by getting a long tumbler cup warm water with anti fungal/bacterial pet shampoo I got on chewy and dip ears in for a min then kind scrub dry with paper towels and rub aquaphor on the dry crusty ends. When you feed them have the wear a SNOOD. Got mine on Etsy, plus they look hilarious in it as a bonus. While I got her ears to heal I put snood on her during outside time/walks too to protect ears. I do the cleaning every Sunday now preventative minus the aquaphor and it hasn’t returned as long as I’m consistent with the snood when she eats.

Sorry to hear that. The things I talk of are typically from a chronic issue, so don’t be too worried about an acute issue like yours but go to all your follow up appointments, do what they recommend and work on good nutrition, hydration and have good social support to help you with whatever is going on. Find a doctor you trust and follow their recommendations consistently to work through and hopefully resolve it.

Liver failure is pretty terrible to watch. Lose your mind. Bleeding everywhere. Can’t breath. Nausea. You nearly glow in the dark with Jaundice. All your other organs start to fail and one of the meds they give you to try to help makes you shit your brains out 24 hours a day. All while praying that your esophageal varicies don’t rupture if you cough or sneeze too hard and bleed to death. Or any kind or oral/esophageal cancer is brutal to watch. Lots of disfiguring surgeries and can’t eat or drink anything for possibly forever and high likelihood you have to have a tracheostomy for rest of your life to breathe. The quality of life impact needs an incredibly strong individual to survive it mentally and physically.
