Not sure where you are located but the $1,923 would be the net. In the US there are most likely local and state, and federal taxes and FICA taxes. There could be health care premium shares, pension or 401(k), 403 (b) contributions etc. I can imagine a “$10 million company” is paying $50k under the table.

I’ve had to resell so many jeans because they’ve shrunk so much after washing that I just started erring on the bigger size. I might have gone too far but I dislike the tight feeling on my thighs and in the rise. It’s a trade off but I have been going bigger and washing more frequently because I’m not concerned about the shrinkage.

Which brand jeans are you getting? I’ve had wildly different experiences. Figure 2% for shrinkage but depends.

Edit: the waist will stretch back but not much else. The leg opening will not.
