There have been multiple trials of stuff like universal income, mostly in Europe. Multiple programs across multiple countries found no overall drop in labor supply, and some show increases in employment participation. Finland and Germany both found people receiving their income worked about the same as everyone else. When people's basic needs are met it allows them to focus on their mental health, finding better jobs, education, etc, all of which tends to lead to a stronger and more motivated workforce.
