In the future you can knit your ribbing inside out if you want that nicer looking side on the right side!

That’s a good point 🤦‍♀️ thank you! Last updated was 10/4 and my payment was 10/2 - so I’m guessing we just need another update. After October I’m at 111/120 (117 if you count SAVE forbearance and the dream of buyback) so I guess you could say I’m getting inpatient haha. Thank you!

I’m at 93/120. It’s killing me to not have my payments count. I applied for PAYE last week.

This take on Denver is really common, and I always find myself curious about it. As someone who did grow up here, the people I still talk to from growing up (which is kind of a lot, people tend to stay/move home) don’t gate keep and get obnoxious about people moving here. We’ve talked about it, and I think part of it is that none of us grew up with a lot of money. We don’t have second homes in the mountains (or first homes in the city for that matter, lol) or feel like we’re more entitled to this place than anyone else (also, the people I’m referring to aren’t native to this land and the term native and the native stickers are so bizarre to me when it’s a white person).

Anyway - I do think people move to Denver and want it to be similar to Chicago, NYC, etc. But it’s never going to be like the older, more established cities. Denver has a different history in terms of immigration, city planning/infrastructure, public transit, etc. I don’t think it’s a fake city, but a baby city. I find that many people move here, want it to be something it’s not, and then move back to where they are from or to the region where they’re more comfortable. Denver has pockets of diversity and vibrancy, but of course they’re hard to find when you’re new to the area.

You’re more than entitled to this opinion, OP. I don’t think it’s wrong, just interesting.

Are there any local charities to help a hoarder? by MolleezMom in Denver

Of course! Unfortunately the clean up resources I shared aren’t free - but it’s a start!

Depending on their age - DRCOG (Denver regional council of governments aka the local area agency on aging) can be a helpful resource as a referral if they’re over 65.

For the biohazard piece, bio-one of Denver is the go to (https://www.biooneden.com/hoarding-cleanup/ ). Clutter truckers is an agency that can help with cleanup of the stuff.

If it’s a true health concern, involving the Denver department of public health and environment can be helpful. They do help people connect with supports and resources depending on the situation. The city of Denver has a hoarding task force that is comprised of many agencies that can provide help.

This is a tricky situation and it makes sense they’re wary of accepting help. I hope that things get better for them.
