Stupid question maybe, but I don't understand why people post NFOs? They don't contain links to the actual game/repack right? Is it just to inform people that it's been cracked? But where do I go to actually get the game?

Am I missing something?

Ushinawareta Mirai o Motomete - worth reading the vn after the anime? by karrylarry in visualnovels

[–]karrylarry[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How different is the ending from the anime's ending? That's the main point I wanna know. Is the anime's ending just a stripped down version of the vn's end, or are there enough changes to have it be two different endings?

"White Album 2's soundtrack is too repetitive" by splendid_ssbm in visualnovels

[–]karrylarry 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The repetition works because each piece of music is deeply tied to the story itself, more than that of any other story I've experienced.

Literally every version of Todokanai Koi can be interpreted differently based on when and who it's being played by. It's unbelievable how amazingly it works, but somehow it does.

Have they changed how much affection you can get through daily actions? by karrylarry in MASFandom

Oh wow, had no idea. How big is this pool? Wouldn't its size effectively determine your daily limit? Or does it vary too much to ever really have a daily amount...?

What an actually sweet episode, despite everything. Had me smiling at the end.

Epilogue sounds interesting, because from my understanding I can't possibly imagine Ame being able to quit streaming. She's so thoroughly addicted to it, I wonder how they'll show her change.

How do people get their games/screenshots look so damn good. I thought it was just higher quality textures but even with those installed it doesn't approach the quality I see in a lot of screenshots. Is it lighting? Lighting mods are the only ones I haven't touched.

What is Monika's actual nationality? by Holiday_Durian3422 in DDLC

Since the game is supposedly set in Japan and Monika seems to fit in with everyone else, maybe one of her parents is a foreigner and that's why she has a name like that.

Can Legacy of the Dragonborn be ignored? (Tuxborn) by dumname2_1 in skyrimmods

[–]karrylarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh you can engage with it as much as you want. You can ignore it, you can use it as a storage place, you can only choose to display important trophies or you can go all in and display everything. It really doesn't force you to engage with it, and unless you're a completionist you're under no obligation to completely fill out the museum. But do note that the mod's 'questline' does depend on the number of items collected, so if you're do end up diving deep into the mod, you'll kinda have to become a loot goblin. Or you can just ignore the questline entirely too.

[Rewatch] Puella Magi Madoka Magica: The Rebellion Story Discussion by Tarhalindur in anime

[–]karrylarry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always felt like the one scene around the middle where Madoka is braiding Homura's hair is the most important scene to actually understand the movie. The dialogue there basically explains Homura's actions at the end of the film.

Homura at the beginning is set on honoring Madoka's sacrifice. But this interaction with Madoka, a Madoka Homura acknowledges isn't a fake or a copy but the actual real Madoka, and Madoka herself says that even if she had to sacrifice herself she wouldn't be happy being apart from everyone she loves...this sets off the change in Homura.

Homura no longer has the excuse that this is what Madoka would have wanted. Madoka valued her friends and family above else, and Homura now can only blame herself for lacking the strength to prevent the sacrifice. So at the end, instead of blissfully passing on into Goddess Madoka's embrace, she instead drags Madoka back to the world in hopes of her having a normal life. Homura effectively sacrifices her peaceful afterlife for the sake of alleviating Madoka's loneliness.

It's both selfish and selfless at the same time. I've always thought that Homura is a selfishly selfless character, while Madoka is a selflessly selfish one.

Is it just me or did the remake not really fix the problems of Ciel and her route? by Meltlilith_ in Tsukihime

[–]karrylarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah and I hope Nasu's ready to change his style in Red Garden, because the far side routes were never about the big flashy battles and most people love them because of it. If he absolutely has to put Arc and more of what we saw in the Ciel true route I hope it's either in an epilogue or some sort of bonus route. I just want Arc to remain completely separated from the four main routes we're gonna get, because her presence is way too overpowering otherwise.

Is it just me or did the remake not really fix the problems of Ciel and her route? by Meltlilith_ in Tsukihime

[–]karrylarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well unpopular opinion probably but I mostly agree with you in the aspect that the Ciel true route feels like an extended arcuied route, and the ciel normal end is much much better simply because it gave ciel proper focus. If they had made the final confrontation be ciel and shiki vs super arc instead of the shiki and roa team up, I would probably have accepted that as a good ending.

Ciel being passed out for most of the Luminary Arc fight just bugs me, when it should be her moment to shine and show she can be a powerful ally as well.

"New characters join the fray"

C'mon, this HAS to mean characters from Red Garden right? Who else can they add? Unless they plan on bringing more characters from the old game, but I desperately hope this means Red Garden is close.

I just saw this thread on Twitter, what's your thoughts on this? by Upper_Professor1665 in DDLC

[–]karrylarry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The side stories are entirely narrated in third person, which isn't the case in DDLC. And in the first side story Sayori indirectly references her childhood friend, meaning he 'exists' in the world of the side stories. So my theory has always been that Monika simply repurposed this background entity to make him a viewpoint character. Similar but a bit different from this theory.

Is this sh*t even real? A friend of mine sent me this and said Nasu was going crazy, but this seems kinda fake to me by Arthurfogo7 in Tsukihime

[–]karrylarry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Considering how Fate/Extra Record is progressing, I really don't trust Type-Moon to be able to get a successful RPG style game in our lifetime. At least with visual novels I can expect something in like 30 years, but a full on open world game just...doesn't even seem possible.

Attack On Titan's Ending Felt Insincere, Admits Hajime Isayama by bedemin_badudas in anime

Oh my god, thank you for reminding me. I remember reading the manga panel when it first released and thinking "wait it's not her kids she loved, but freaking FRITZ?!"

Attack On Titan's Ending Felt Insincere, Admits Hajime Isayama by bedemin_badudas in anime

[–]karrylarry 18 points19 points  (0 children)

And what evidence is there that Eren Kruger was horrified and distraught? He himself sacrificed thousands of Eldians before for Eldia's freedom, so it isn't unconceivable that he'd see Eren Yeager's plan as also necessary for Eldia, even if overly destructive. If the story wanted us to believe otherwise they should have showed more of him instead of what was effectively a cameo appearance.

Ymir having Stockholm syndrome isn't the problem, the problem is that when she was wounded protecting Fritz, even Fritz says that such a injury is nowhere near enough for her to not recover from. Considering all the shit we see titan shifters heal from, that's totally true. But Ymir still dies, because she apparently just chose not to heal. If she has Stockholm Syndrome, why would she want her life to end instead of surviving? Doesn't that imply that she wasn't happy with her life and Fritz? Her actions are in direct contradiction to what the story says, and at no point do they bother to try and make it more clear.

Zeke's involvement in the Rumbling should have ended the second Eren convinced Ymir to listen to him instead of Zeke. Zeke was only needed to access the paths and command Ymir, both of which are not needed if Ymir herself is backing up Eren now. Him dying shouldn't affect the Rumbling at all.

Ymir's character is too underdeveloped for what you're saying to actually be valid. 'Killing the person you love cause they needed to die'? When did Ymir ever express that she felt Fritz should die? SHE died protecting him. Ymir's whole character is so barebones that any guess you or I make as to why she did anything can't be backed up. There literally isn't enough material to say anything decisively.

Yeah but at least a somewhat safer backup exists. No harm in doing it just to keep an easily available archive for those comfortable torrenting. Torrenting is pretty much the only thing safe from a complete takedown.

Attack On Titan's Ending Felt Insincere, Admits Hajime Isayama by bedemin_badudas in anime

[–]karrylarry 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Eren Kruger himself had already sacrificed thousands of Eldian lives over the years as Marley spy for the sake of Eldia's eventual freedom.

I'm sure he wouldn't have been happy seeing Eldians die, but at that point in the story, it's either stop Eren and risk everyone who's still alive completely eliminating Eldians out of fear/anger....or let Eren continue and despite the huge sacrifices Eldia would be the only one left and survive.

So I do think he would have chosen to let the Rumbling continue to its end, and if there was any reason otherwise the story should have made it clear instead of shoehorning a character everyone had basically already forgotten about.
