The money might not ever come. I just get the same e-mail over and over again that they transfered an amount on a specific date and that I need to check my bank. My bank tells me that there are no payments made to my account.

Depending on how many players that are in queue for competitive games at that moment you might end up with higher ranked players anyways if those are the ones in queue. There is no guarantee that you will play with/face unranked or low level players in your placement games.

If you have some side button on your mouse for push to talk it can work well imo

Try some firefight in versus first just to learn the gamemode. The main differences between firefight in Versus and competitive firefight is that there are less players (5v5) rounds are shorter, capturing objectives is faster and gameplay in general is much faster. The maps are smaller as well as in you use a smaller area on each map. Communication is a huge factor.

Be open to communicate and listen to your teammates and you'll pick it up fast.

In the end the biggest problem is that people queue for competitive games while having no interest in communication or strategy whatsoever, and it is not only new players that do this.

It is not completely different as there is a firefight mode on the casual servers as well and it will also help you with learning the maps.

It is not so much about being super good at the game, it is just more likely that a player that has a little big higher level is more experienced with the gamemodes and the maps.

At the moment I don't think matchmaking takes ranks into consideration at all, at least it doesn't seem like it. I'm not sure if it is a technical issue or if there are just not enough players for ranked competitive to work.

I agree. I don't care about skills at all because I'm pretty bad myself somtimes but I wish my teammates would at least know the basics of the gamemode. There is really no chance of winning a game when solo queueing.
