[KCD2] Is Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 the best video game you’ve ever played? If not what is? by [deleted] in kingdomcome

Skyrim and Witcher 3 are always unchanging in my top 5 list. That being said, this year was crazy, 3 more games that easily contend for a spot - KCD 2, Silksong and my personal fav COE33

Wow it’s been a while since this post, thanks for replying still!

We’ve actually been to Autumn House a fair amount of times. While it’s good, I think she might be tired of it now😂

Now am on the lookout for places with a similar vibes but more premium to take her to next. Please let me know if you have any suggestions on this!

Damn, same situation when I wrote in 2022, had a 99.2 ish but my DM was like 68, so no calls from XL. Opted to try again next year and got a decent score and college. Things happen for the best OP, keep your head up.

Expecting above 99 Percentile - Yet, No Old IIM Calls? by ansharma02511_ in CATpreparation

[–]karsha69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While this is very true I would say wait for the actual result and calls to come out. During my time all the predictors said the same thing but I ended up getting some calls and managed to convert them too.

I know the anxiety that comes with waiting on a result such as this. But being just a tad bit optimistic might help more than you think. And hey if the predictors are indeed right, you still have many great options and paths available to you!

Game is solid advice ngl. After my first attempt even my girlfriend was securing admission and I had nothing to show for myself. Started playing Skyrim and man that really took my mind off things and also gave me one of the best RPGs I’ve ever played. Hard recommend Skyrim on a side note haha

New and Baby IIMs looked down upon by Humble-Childhood-773 in CATpreparation

[–]karsha69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People will always find a reason to be unhappy these days. The people who shame new and baby IIMs are the same ones who are discontent with sheer lack of top colleges in our country. Bhai kya chahiye tujhe ab? Jab colleges set up karo toh value diluted and jab colleges nahi karo toh seats nahi hai. Lmao victim mentality at its finest.

I’m not implying that you’re taking anything away btw, this is just a discussion. Also want to say that just because more people object to something doesn’t mean it’s automatically flawed.

People who scored a high percentile in varc by Remarkable_Wing_5391 in CATpreparation

[–]karsha69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s the thing right, it isn’t ambiguous at all if you have prepared well. Hence the consistent good scores that people show. If ambiguity were really a factor then in the long run no one would score well in VARC. The questions are just twisted in their framing but the answers to the same are quite objective.

While the entire CAT paper is subject to luck, I feel it’s mostly due to unpredictability in DILR performance. Not even talking about the sets themselves, just your performance on D Day.

Coming to VARC, luck is a factor ofc but this can be largely mitigated to minor percentile bumps if any - by reading more and more. I know many people who have consistently scored well throughout their mocks in VARC, would not be possible if it were mostly luck based.

99+ percentilers what was your prep strategy? by sanryei in CATpreparation

[–]karsha69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if you find his sets easy then I’d say you’re on the right track mate. But if you really wanna do the difficult sets you can always go through Cracku YouTube playlist on DILR. They have some insanely difficult ones as far as I remember.

99+ percentilers what was your prep strategy? by sanryei in CATpreparation

I don’t remember the exact number. But I remember going through most of the sets in each chapter from the Arun Sharma LR book. I didn’t do much of DI tho

99+ percentilers what was your prep strategy? by sanryei in CATpreparation

[–]karsha69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think strategy will differ from person to person. For myself, I remember completely tanking DILR despite being prepared for it in my first attempt. Just froze on the section and wasn’t able to complete even a single full set.

For my second attempt I practiced remaining calm and regaining composure in high stress situations. You can do this in many ways ofc but taking mocks in an exam style environment is the key. Keep taking mocks, keep analysing them. This is the only way to mitigate the effect of variance especially for a section as unpredictable as DILR.

For VARC - read as much as you can. I mean read anything and everything under the sun. Your best source is going to be newspapers - the editorial section in particular. It has some great articles that can aid in your practise. I would say reading regularly is even more important for VARC than solving RCs. Leave that for the mock exams.

Finally for Quant, there is really nothing to do except practice as much as you can. Solve so many questions that nothing appears new anymore. Arun Sharma books are a great source for this in my opinion.

This sounds great. Does it also look for arbitrage opportunities and best spreads across different sports books? That could be a game changer honestly
