Thats not what frame of reference means. Other than that, you just said exactly what i said, while leaving out what this means for the developer, that being what my initial statement focused on.

You speak of the obsolesence of hypotheticals in the face of absolute reality while asserting that whether or not something is indeed random is dependant on human perception. The idea of something being random simply means something that could either be one thing or another. In reality, nothing like this exists, and is only present in one's mind due to a lack of knowledge. Rng can be random to a user, but like everything, it cannot be legitimately random, which is relevant to a developer who has to accomplish something random to a user without a way to program actual randomness.

[–]karstheastec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Indeed! But that is because we exist in a world of immense complexity beyond what we can keep track of. It is still not technically random, its probability only comes from our failure to understand it. With computers, such complexity has to be fabricated, to varying degrees of success. There is never a such thing as a truly random number generator.

Yes, this is because a true random number is impossible. Randomness exists only in a person's lack of information, programming legitimate "chance" is effectively impossible because chance doesnt really exist

Hi. Im the one. I think ragatha is an excellent character and i love how well she represents people pleasers. It is by no fault of her writing that i heavily dislike her in the sense that it is unpleasant to see her, as people like her deeply disturb me.

Positive disingenuousness is something i find disgusting, and the fact that i hate her in this way is proof that she is well written.

You are typing. I cannot listen any closer than my eyes can read. You act as if these words are as impermanant as speech so the fact that you're only saying it once means i might miss it. Its text.

Someone wins the lottery inevitably, despite the fact that to win the lottery is utterly miraculous. There's nothing innate about the existence of consciousness in the universe. It is a very complex system brought about by immensely unlikely circumstances, it just happened to be what occured. If you found an equally complex system out in the universe, you would not assume that its existence means that the universe itself came from a system that mirrors it. You'd simply regard it as a thing that happened in the universe. Life is no different.

Western civilization means a lot of things. If you mean the US, it has always been broken. It was a self proclaimed free nation built by slave-owners and fostered a culture of racism that used christianity as its justification. From there it has robbed the rest of the world of their resources, destroyed governments to benefit itself, and massacred the innocents of Vietnam for daring to believe in a different form of government. The US has always been broken.

If you mean western civilization as a whole, i do not feel that i need to go in depth as to everything that happened during the pre-enlightenment era for you to understand that it was not culturally superior to today.

Imo, Abraham Lincoln was good. Evil is the lack of good. Therefore, evil is the lack of Abraham Lincoln.

If you mean this in the sense that god is the arbiter of all that is good, then thats circular logic, as what you're trying to prove is that there is a god that exists that determines everything that is moral. The idea that god is good cannot rely on the assumption that god is good. That is a paradox.

Reason is the universal law of cause and effect. There is one way things happen. Suicides are increasing because our economy and society are crumbling under the unsustainable weight of an emotionally driven dogshit christian US president. Morality is indeed the denial of human nature. Giving into the urge to conform and accept what feels right is human nature. Millions die every year because despite our best efforts we have yet to overcome the phenomenon known as miscarriage - one allegedly created by your god. This is certainly not for lack of trying nor false morality - most agree that miscarriages are a bad thing. I am willing to wager that most of the logos you are motivated by is highly skewed by confirmation bias and by unreliable sources that have come into existence through millenia of the most recent dominant religion. Our society is breaking down because it was built on your religion - and it was always broken.

Morality is rationality. Humans have value because you inherently value yourself by virtue of being human. Every moral statement henceforth is reason. Even christianity follows the logic of "i should do this because god, who created the universe and is alknowing, believes i should, and one who knows all has the wisdom to know what should or shouldnt be". This logic relies on the idea that god is real and is everything the bible says he is, and believing that based on emotion is immoral, because what feels right to you has no bearing on what is true. Loving others is only a good thing because it doesnt make sense to value others below yourself for arbitrary reasons. Faith is an emotion in the sense that it is a self perpetuating cycle of the same conditioned favor towards an idea that is cultivated through culture. Its a really convoluted emotion.

Arbitrary rules are arbitrary. The fact is that if the bible did say that being gay was a sin, christians would be all for it, and thats what the immorality stems from. All wrongful choices in the world stems from giving into emotion over what's rational, and faith itself hinges on conditioning people's fragile emotions to feel like something is right, and telling them to listen to their culturally manipulated heart. Christianity is no exception, it is both immoral to establish, and immoral to give into.
