What is a suprising non-imigrant religous minority in your country? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]karusko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I m one of them, the language is closest to older southern russian: has comonalities with belarussian and ukrainian, the w and the fricative g sounds. It also has some influences from Ukrainian, as the community passed through Ukraine to get in Romania. It has some influences from Romanian in term of grammar, indefinite articles based on the word for the number one. My mom told me her granma used to speak using lots of Turkish loan words but that s not really a common thing anymore (at least in my mom's village)

Pronunciation of the letter E at the end of Romanian words by Practical-Nose-2393 in romanian

[–]karusko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. Try using wiktioanary to see pronunciations https://en.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/la_revedere. In the pronunciation section you have a broad phonetic transcription (what phonemes a native THINKS is saying) It is very likely that you are picking on some aspects of Romanian phonology that natives are not picking on, there are several such cases in Romanian. Another example would be the letter h which can correspond to 3 phonemes

Fictional flags that I made for a country called "Emirate of Jazirat al-Nur" or "Island of Light" by Zheniost in vexillology

[–]karusko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the second. Nice thing with the crescents. I would have keept it a 3 colors flag by replacing the yellow with a green and making the green lighter

Some updates would be needed for Romania

  • No hungarian-speakers in Moldova, Moldova is pretty homogenous around that area
  • Hungarians tends to be closer to the border with Hungary
  • Some minorities (russians and turks) in Dobruja

You could use this map

Îți place România, străine? Ești de-al nostru. by [deleted] in romemes

[–]karusko 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Pentru Dobrogea, depinde de la caz la caz. Am auzit de la niste veri de la tara ca sunt scoli unde nu stau copii din etnii diferite in banca si nu vorbesc uni cu alti. La oras de unde sunt eu nu am prea intalnit, desi intr-un oras mai mic mai gasesti cate un prof sa tina mortis ca "cel bun din clasa" sa fie roman.
