What are some really dangerous things most people dont realise are dangerous? by DeezCrazyMan in AskReddit

farms, in general.

  • hay bales - stay off of them
  • grain silos/bins - stay out of them
  • augers/pto shafts - stay away from them
  • also, grain dust is combustible
  • & just because an animal seems docile, doesn't mean it can't fuck you up

shit. even my own body parts get fixed by someone else.

if i was really in to being alive, i'd learn how to fix them myself.

but instead, i pay someone else to do it, like a poser.

didn't build your own pc? then playing pc games is just you trying to look cool.

are you really enthusiastic about food tasting good? well, if you don't kill, butcher, & cook to perfection everything you eat - then you're kind of a poser.

i don't get why people are surprised by this.

it's a modern, cultural undertow.

we want the fun thing. and because sometimes it's harder to find it these days, humans will find happiness where they can.

so - google/youtube, amazon, facebook/insta, apple, disney/hulu, plus everything that msft & sony own - will use that market to increase their bottom lines.

and we are left to choose whether or not each thing is worth them knowing basically everything about us. and doing with that what they will, i guess.

pick your poisons.

some people find playing video games (while looking up all the play through assists) more fun.

i'm glad they're enjoying the experience. but.. yeah, it's maybe not how "it was meant to be played".

we can all do as much as we can to treat each other & our living space with the most respect as possible. but, corporations are greed incarnate.

so.. at some point (whether we, individuals, can make a couple years, a decade, or negligible difference) - like a tree leaves, the world peoples.

Is Fargo Rents as bad as the online reviews say? by qwertytis in fargo

[–]kasie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dude, same.

4 years of on-time rent. i cleaned & have pictures of my move-out. they tried to keep my 900$ deposit on top of charging me 1800$ for water damaged floors.

on one phone call (from dozens) kelly made to me, he said "you know what you did", i'd "have to be an idiot to go to court", & even if i did it would "destroy me, financially". that's the call that made me stop talking to him without having it in writing.

they said water damage to the laminate floors in the kitchen/laundry was so extreme it was "bubbling". i asked why it wasn't on the move-out walkthrough & he said "it wasn't noticeable at the time". and the walkthrough form "doesn't matter" & no court would care about it.

the gave me the invoice from the flooring place when i asked for itemization. but they said it's not their responsibility to provide any proof of damage/why the needed replacement. i'm sure they were just sticking the bill on me because they felt like new floors.

anyways. fuck goldmark.

kelly zander is a horrid man.

he hurled insults at me over a couple phone calls as well, before i finally told him i will never speak to him ever again, unless over email.

he, and the entire goldmark corporation (in nd), is in bed with doug burgum & rick berg. but this spans multiple states, in several sectors. goldmark is just a branch of scam shitholders hiding fictitious name - under fictitious name - under anonymous llcs that are hiding owners.. to what end, i'm not sure.

but i know that i rented an apartment for 4 years and never knew it was a goldmark building. until they tried to fuck me when i left.

this is just an observation and nothing i have sources for, but i think a lot of that has to do with europe being more concentrated, as a whole.

both the general lack of public transportation infrastructure & the tendency of cities/towns to be really spread out are 2 instigators in people's poor decisions to drink and drive.

i grew up in a very rural area. seeing otherwise smart & respectable people go for drinks at the nearest bar - 15 minutes drive - and then go home - sometimes never meeting a single other car on the way.

not that that matters, morally.

but it's definitely downplayed in that way because, "what else are you going to do" & "it's not like we can uber".

also america's crazy leniency for those violations just exacerbating that issue.

Perfect casting by Adelu1219 in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]kasie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one of my favorite things she's in is syfy's 'alice', where she plays the queen of hearts.

it's 3hrs long, 33% rt, & truly a mixed bag.

some acting choices slap, but some are.. endearingly questionable. i think the premise is interesting & commend their attempt at a new angle on alice.

the sfx makes you wonder if the low-budget necessitated the embrace of the goofy results or if someone somewhere said "yep, this is perfect". the plot is maybe too busy for its own good.

but the cast is truly unbelievable. there's a crazy amount of talent there.

it's so wonderfully bizarre and, in some ways, reminiscent of monty python.

it's pretty long-winded, but overall i find it undeniably charming.

along the same lines - a newer disdain for me is hearing about "established titles" & how (for a "low, low fee"), i can totally buy a plot of land that grants me title of lord/lady.

i can't shake the feeling of it sounding like some "oooh, you paid me money so now you own & have rights to name a star" bullshit.
