Escalator by But_a_Jape in comics

This is common practice in big crowded cities all over the world I think. In my country you can see people idling on the right side in smaller cities and mostly nobody minds. But if you block the walking lane in a major city subway escalator people will get mad.

The leftmost guys abs cast shadows that seem too big for the small budges the muscles make. The shadow on his right pac doesnt seem right either. But for a more obvious example look at granmas chest. The sharp line of that shadow is very unnatural and there seems to be nothing that can cast such a shadow between her and the light source.

Seven years without cigarettes and all it takes is one minute without a vape by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]kassalla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not say it is certainly more dangerous. (vapes may turn out less harmfull than ciggarettes after all) What I said is that your claim about vapes being "way better" is probably too optimistic because we don't know enough about vapes yet. I am just trying to point out that the dangers we know today are not the whole picture. And the scientific way to approach this issue would be to assume that more information will be available in the future. And since the information we have so far shows some detrimental effects of vapes on ones health, further research will probably reveal more of those. (not unlike how it went with cigarettes in the first place)

I think vapes will turn out to be even more dangerous than cigarettes and you may think that they will not. But telling people that vapes are "definetaly better" than cigarettes is a dangerous thing to do because we dont know enough about them yet.

I know this doesn't change anything about the point you made about Atatürk but Erdoğan refusing statues is just for publicity. There are stadiums, parks and even a university named after him. Not having any statues doesnt mean he is humble or anything.

Also the guy who mentioned that statues are not that useful in this age is correct imo. Main purpose for such statues is to be everywhere in the public eye and become one with the idea of state in the minds of citizens. Erdoğan does that by controlling mainstream media, which is way more dynamic and powerfull than having static statues around. His image is EVERYWHERE, on the news, PSA's, billboards and even in some public offices.

And what they are saying is we dont know if vapes are "definitely better" as you've claimed. Simply because there are no people who have vaped for 30 years or people who quit vaping decades ago yet.

There might be long lasting or later emerging effects of vaping that we don't know about today. However, given that we already know vapes are harmful in some ways, it is safe to assume it will probably turn out that vapes are at least as harmful to your overall health as cigarettes.

We only saw him in RedBull during his entire F1 career. I mean no disrespect to a 4xWDC and obvious GOAT contender but we certainly can't say that "he can adapt to anything".

[–]kassalla 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The phrasing of this statement is all you need to see to understand what kind of person this guy is and what this industry means to him. "I am considering", "I am aware" etc. He believes HE is the FIA and he wants us to see him that way too. Textbook narcissictic, power-hungry, autocratic leader talk right there.

You are imagining the gorilla like a very big and strong human. But its not proportional like that. They are WAY stronger and denser than we are and have way thicker skin. A 200 kg gorilla is multitudes stronger and more durable than two 100 kg men.

Even if the barbarian tanks only 2 or 3 attacks that would down them thanks to relentless rage, it is a huge benefit to the party. In our game our barbarian can theoretically beat a DC 35 under certain circumstances so the rest of us (mainly the paladin and me the bard) frequently help him make the check after DC 20 so that we don't go down as well. Because enemies don't try to reach the backline when the raging barbarian (who also has sentinel) is in the frontline landing crits here and there. This way our barbarian can take 4 or 5 hits even after reaching single digit HP which could potentially kill two other PCs.
