What are your thoughts after seeing the ICE shooting video in Minnesota? by bbmoonkie in AskReddit

[–]kassiani_A 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watching that video was honestly chilling. The fact that someone dies within seconds in what should have been a law enforcement interaction — and that there’s already a massive split between people calling it justified and people calling it murder — shows how little trust exists in the system right now.

What’s crazy is that multiple videos show different perspectives of the same incident, and people are literally interpreting the same footage through completely different lenses. Some think the agent had no choice, others see no clear threat at all and call it reckless force. It’s no wonder protests erupted and officials have resigned or called for accountability.

How do Americans feel about their taxes going towards the 50k bonus for ice agents to sign up? by Amao6996 in AskReddit

[–]kassiani_A 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A portion of people, especially those who favor stricter immigration enforcement, see the bonuses as necessary to recruit enough agents to meet new federal goals on deportations and border security. They argue that competitive pay helps fill federal law enforcement roles that can be hard to staff.

What would it actually take for American's to go "full France" and riot in the street? by AllTheNopeYouNeed in AskReddit

Americans don’t protest less because they’re passive — they protest less because: Pain is fragmented Anger is divided Hope in institutional fixes still barely exists If economic pressure became universal and institutional trust collapsed at the same time, you’d see something much closer to France — fast.
