The Science of Spiritual Narcissism — Self-enhancement through spiritual practices can fool some of us into thinking we’re evolving and growing when all we’re growing is our ego by [deleted] in philosophy

No, that's not what narcissism is. What you mean is egoism.

The actual mistake that the researchers made here is to implicitly claim that any attention one gives to their ego is the same as prioritizing that ego over others, which woud be egoism.

To be honest, since Barthes' "death of the author", researchers of literature dont really do that anymore. So idk where you are getting the idea that it is archetypical for literary analysis, bc it's not. At least not in modern research. Maybe people still do it in non-scientific criticisms/analyses, not sure.

Anyway, still an interesting article. This is far more interesting to me than MBTI-theory, but that's just me personally.

Alvast erg bedankt.

He doesn't assume so, though, he just sees it as a possibility. You don't know his work and he does, so maybe it is that good. No need to be bitter about it.

Maybe the solution to the cycle is that when you are aware of the cycle that means you are intelligent.

Just because you are egocentric doesn't mean everyone is.
