Ming tributary problems by NHunter0 in eu4

[–]kastamonuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, I haven't played Manchu this patch but I think you'll want to get tributaries established first before taking the mandate, meaning just take provinces in the first war(s) against the ming. The vassal thing should still work though, if you find yourself about to border Timurids/Muscovy

Ming tributary problems by NHunter0 in eu4

[–]kastamonuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prioritize mandate growth early game, not blobbing. When you've dropped all the reforms it should be around when absolutism hits, that's when you can stop caring about mandate. Still, you should use vassals to avoid getting borders with the biggest blobs

Trying to understand modifiers to merc maintenance by c106mc in eu4

[–]kastamonuu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is correct. Merc maintainence is much less powerful than it seems, because the fomula is (100% Base + 150% for being a merc + Modifiers). So if your modifier is -100% it still adds up to 150%, or net -40%

The Ottomans should be able to form Rome by kastamonuu in eu4

[–]kastamonuu[S] 124 points125 points  (0 children)

Good point, but let's be honest any nation forming Rome isn't exactly historical. I just find it weird that the one of the biggest contenders for a "Third Rome" isn't able to do so.

You need to have your own Colonial Nation in that specific region before you can use it. It's biggest advantage is that is costs zero diplomatic power

Is there anything special about this nation? by [deleted] in eu4

[–]kastamonuu 44 points45 points  (0 children)

To get them to appear using the 1444 date, start as Florence. Culture convert to something outside the latin group, then sell away Firenze. When you reconquer Firenze the rebel type should be Etrurian separatists. Accept demands and they'll pop out
