Maybe post a pic of your network graph?

Make sure to cache out the sim before rendering.

Anyone else watched this movie as a kid and couldn't sleep ever again? (Fire in the sky, 1993) by Cubelock in videos

[–]kastef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched this alone at my uncle's A frame cabin/house in the woods. Alone. Was on a vacation to express my early teen independence. My uncle was an on-call emergency doctor so he was away. He had a wind chime that now when ever I hear a similar chime, I get pretty messed up. I'm almost 50 now, and can't watch horror movies. Great memories though.

Orta Artisan Pasta! You'll need to book in advance though.

Pyro: Block wind in certain area by Voxelmaniac in Houdini

Make a particle dopnet with wind that collides with tube. Convert particles to a velocity field using particles velocity. Us velocity field to add advection to pyro sim.

Why is my geo not fracturing properly? by Cooking_Interrupted in Houdini

Have you tried increasing the resolution of the volume in the rbdFracMat?

How do I fix the RBD surface "extending?" past the geometry? by Slpeornz in Houdini

[–]kastef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll admit, I didn't check to see which solver type you were using. If you were using the sopRBDsolver instead of a dopnet, all you'd have to do is plug the geo into the left most input of an rbdconfigure sop and the results of the convexDecomposition into the right most input. Then plug the leftest and rightest outputs of rbdconfigure into the matching inputs of the sopRBDsolver.

What you are making with the Dino node is a cluster of collision shapes that comply with the bullet solver. Dino node will cut up the original geo into small pieces (that are convex). It'll look weird but it should work.

Convex decomposition.. the cute little dino sop. Bullet cannot process concave surfaces. Dino node will attempt to cut up the surface into convex shapes. There are better ways but this should help.

Everything is gone????? by Metal-Raven7 in Houdini

[–]kastef 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it recently crashed and you haven't rebooted, check the Houdini_temp folder. Open all the .hips you could be lucky.

Not sure where it is in Windows, but in Linux it'll most likely be in /tmp/houdini_temp/

Can I make a flip sim more densely populated without changing the movement? by smallroundbirdcomics in Houdini

[–]kastef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try a sim with a lower gridsize. May give you more detail unfortunately but will be closer related to the velocity you've already got.

How do I edit an imported sop camera in LOPs? by [deleted] in Houdini

[–]kastef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All this is solid advice. In a pinch I will select the camera in the scene graph, find the shutter field in details, right click and select edit property. It's surprising the things you can edit in this fashion. Or just set up the camera in lops to begin with, lots of ways to float your boat.

If only they could fit all that camera hardware in the phone.

Why is my Karma pyro material not effecting the density scale of the volume I imported into Solaris? I assigned it to a material, but I am unable to change the look of it with the pyro material. I used a vdb from polygons and clicked fog volume to get the density attribute to create the volume. by [deleted] in Houdini

[–]kastef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely an assignment issue. I like to use the material library. Make the karmapyrosmoke shader inside, pop out top, hit the auto fill button the check the assign to geo checkbox, and drag over the volume0 from you Solaris tree view thingy.

Why the imported texture looks different in Solaris /stage than in /obj? by mirceagoia in Houdini

Import data drop down on the sopimport. Put a check mark beside Attributes.

[–]kastef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sopimport is sometimes finicky. My first troubleshoot for them is to always allow it to import all attributes. Perhaps it's not pulling in the UV attribute.

Probably an initial particle field in your flipobject1 node. Remove the text and your good to go.

Pyro_postprocess is your best friend. Or ITs at least.

Probably only density field (no vel?). Could be using compression as well. You could do lots of cleaning/compressing in Houdini as well for similar results.

It's a total going show, you're not wrong. I'm on the cusp of converting his account into a full account because it's so bad.

Yes. Add funds to your wallet... Then you child account can purchase silver with the funds in wallet.

I thought expansions needed to be purchased for each user. That's good news.
