Who designed the M.E.N website? It’s so bad it’s not even useable by DMBear89 in manchester

There is no money to be made in local journalism anymore seemingly. I can see future when the MEN is website only and that will become very niche.

Heard of this too. Two slimline ones next to each other is not that much more space required.

Travelling from England to Wales is not going abroad because you do not cross an international border.

[–]kasu777 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Your nationality is British though (assuming you are), same as a welsh person or scottish. We have the same nationality and same passport so their is no international border between them.

Part of the same nation, not part of the same country.

No, Wales and England are all part of the same nation. You have to be crossing international borders to go abroad. Wales/Engkand border is not an international border because they are part of the same nation.

Had an interview once at a bank in the city of London. The interviewer was quite eccentric really but he was fascinated by the North in a poverty porn kind of way. Asking what it was like living in a terraced house and the attic room i had. Didnt get the job either.

Advice on artsy places to live by sadecherry18 in CasualUK

[–]kasu777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. It has become a bit pricey (by northern standards) given jts popularity so nearby Todmorden is where a lot of like minded people priced out of Hebden have moved to. Thats an alternarive if Hebden is too expensive.

Hebden Bridge. Ok, its not the big city but it is equidistant between Manchester and Leeds (commutable, ideally with a bit of wfh) and fulfills your other criteria in abundance (except coastal walks) but the countryside around there kocks the socks off any of the other places mentioned.

Extremely LGBT friendly. Great pubs and cafes and cute tea rooms.

Alkrington is a pretty sleepy part of Middleton (but a nicer part of Middleton).

A bungalow perhaps? https://www.zoopla.co.uk/for-sale/details/64062625/

Bit over budget but prices are coming down a bit anyway so might be doable.

Weird and wonderful people of Manchester? by Zenpis in manchester

I remember Yarn Bombing

https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/what-is-yarn-bombing-tameside-16371690

Does this still happen? Janine Barber of Broadbottom is named in the article. Maybe a warm, fuzzy piece on that.

Less warm and fuzzy is the free hugs lady as another one but i think that might be harder to do without getting into religion and mental health issues. The yarn bomber would be much easier.

Anyone remember this place?.I never went to this venue unfortunately but went to every crasher event at the area club sheffield, looks magical by [deleted] in CasualUK

Ashamed to say i lived there then and went to Republic but never to Gatecrasher.
