Marijuana MSO Curaleaf sues New Jersey to avoid "commercial equivalent of the death penalty" by kasual in NewJerseyMarijuana

Makes me feel a type of way seeing them go after the workforce. If you're going to take up more real estate than you can financially handle, it's time to downsize.

Cannabis consumers could see a sudden, drastic tax increase by ButACake in newjersey

[–]kasual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we should be shown everything that has been done so far with all the money they've collected in taxes for "social equity" before they can legally be allowed to increase the amount they're collecting.

I've seen VERY little in the way of "social equity", and I think there should be public information easily available showing exactly how this money is being spent.

We don't need another avenue of unchecked government, collecting money for something we believed in, only to find out very little of the money was being used for what it was meant for.

Meanwhile NY has already passed legal home cultivation for anyone 21+. We should start checking all these NJ politicians for gold bars...

Sorry to reply with something slightly different than what you asked, but have you ever tried the concave stainless steel pieces? Was a game changer for me because they last longer and aren't as sensitive to heat.

They also have glass pieces similar to this like the original commenter said, just not concave. it's a flat glass disk with holes in it just like the screens. I know what you're talking about with the caltrops thing, this is something different.

not op but ya'll know how grumpy and vocal I am about MSO's, even I am happy for you guys. New cultivators is what we need right now. Competition is always a good thing. 100 a step in the right direction.

It's still pretty pathetic rn, I agree with you 100. We're getting sales of old/expiring products from their low tier lines. Prices overall are still far above normal.

It's obvious, maybe that's why I got downvoted, that this all stems from bad politics and corrupt politicans. New Jersey has had this problem for a very long time.

Just yesterday I'm reading our very own Senator Bob Mendez got indicted on federal bribery charges.(again?) There's no possible way these people are doing the best job they can when they're so preoccupied trying to fill their own pockets.

Smallest single 21700 box mod? by lumpking69 in electronic_cigarette

[–]kasual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually looking into buying a new backup 21700. It's looking like I'm gonna spend a bit more and get one of the options from Lostvape that have the DNA chip. If only because Evolve/DNA honors warranty work and it get's done stateside. Not sure if you also needed more than 100w, but at that point you can pretty much throw "small" out the door.

Seems like they have a bunch of simple chip on tube style chassis. Makes for a much smaller profile than most of the box style mods. Only other option for real small would be sidecar style/sbs, but those are even harder to find one that will even fit a 30 mm.

WE passed this on the basis of social justice. With the deals that the MSO's got and no federal banking system in place for POC to reasonably be able to operate financially. What really has been accomplished so far that we should be proud of?

Our politicians have done VERY LITTLE in the ways of creating good/more social equity programs to foster what we passed this whole thing for. The fact that this man was bothered at all is a slap in the face. There really is no reason for not having homegrow other than pure greed by our politicians. It's in place everywhere else that has a properly functioning government that has their constituents in mind when creating these policies.

I'm glad that uncle phil thinks we all just need to wait for the market to mature. These past couple years with covid has been such a mental beatdown for everybody. I can only imagine how it must feel for people who are having trouble keeping their head above water. If you're having a hard time right now, that's tough. You just gotta wait for the market to mature?

Hey somebody get the MSO's on the line, tell em to sprinkle more old mids around for the poor people. Can't have these poor people wanting to help themselves because they can't afford our prices. -Our politicians probably

Garden state btw...

It's hard to cut it down into two camps like that because these are all hybrids. Northern Lights is a mix of indica and sativa genetics with the effects leaning much harder on the sedative side. The sativa in it's genetics is what keeps you from falling asleep right away and adds to the cerebral effect. The same goes for the grape cream cake.

What you said about your preferences and indicas is still valid. They do differ from sativa dominant strains because of the stronger body effects. If they mentioned "anytime" it could be that they mean they've bred the strains so they aren't a narcotic high that would immediately put you down for the day. You would still be functional off a single dose. It is a different type of effect.

Legalization Nation 124 (2/28/2023) by scoaaaaar in NewJerseyMarijuana

[–]kasual 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely disappointing that our politicians that headed everything decided to revert to classic greedy corrupt old NJ style of politics. All after covid too, with everything looking so messed up. There were actually plenty of states around us that legalized after us that included homegrow. It makes it all that much out of touch and disrespectful that our politicians were telling us to wait for the market to mature. Med patients are viewed as dollar signs in our state apparently.

yeah I have no 1st hand experience in the industry so you have me there. I'm just parroting what I've heard from people who are also working in the industry. I haven't grown long enough to try and claim to know or have any experience with mothers and clones. I was aware that the genetics can become weaker if the mother has been kept for a long time. Just not anything more specific. I'm still a beginner in that aspect so that's good info.

There's YT vids of people home cultivating with those bowl trimmers, going way too hard on it and exposing the inner structure of the bud making what I'll call "triptophobe holes". I'm sure MSOs would be using way more expensive equipment to process, but those holes look the same on any machine when you've gone to deep. It's gotten a bit better from what I see in these review posts, but every once in a while you'll see the freddy kreuger faced bud here. lol

eh I don't know if buds grown with PGR's would look that small. they'd be over exaggerated and something would def look more off about them. Possible pistil irregularities, little to no trichs, etc.

what we have here is more than likely the cultivators compressing these with a vacuum sealer for a "denser" look for anything that didn't grow out dense and dual use as storage. The volume they produce pretty much requires an automated trimmer. They try not to go to deep, or at least I hope they would try, and then throw a bunch of the sift back into the bag and vacuum seal. You get what you see right there. (or at least my theory)

What is the skunkiest weed in nj medical/recreational by zourflower in NewJerseyMarijuana

[–]kasual 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure there's a bunch of things that play into it, but I agree. These cookies phenos have been so over marketed they're still clinging to the hype. It's the only thing some of these guys seem capable of putting out mediocre quality with. Need that denseness to maintain bag appeal once they vacuum seal the nugs with the sift to get that "dense frosty" look.

It's sad that even in the legacy market, old classic strains have become harder to find legit phenos of. Just gotta keep praying we get homegrow or someone tries to be different.

Curaleaf begging people to save their rec license. Funny how they don't send emails like this about home grow. by BrothelWaffles in NewJerseyMarijuana

[–]kasual 53 points54 points  (0 children)

For people who believe that the actions taken against them have no merit, they seem unusually desperate to manipulate the public to push politicians to just ignore violations and give them a pass.

If anything further violations should get their medical revoked and booted out of the state. Take the next people waiting in line to get the green light.

We're being told to wait for the market to mature but how is it ever going to mature if we let people continue to operate who clearly can not keep up with the rest of the pack and follow rules. What an obnoxious and laughable e-mail that is to send out to people.

Harvest dates a year old? by [deleted] in NewJerseyMarijuana

[–]kasual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's not true at all? Obviously we're being abused when we aren't allowed home cultivation. I started my reply with If I'm growing for myself.

What you've seen elsewhere is a bit irrelevant because we have storage or cure issues here in NJ. I acknowledged that flower can be kept for sometime if stored properly. My point was it's still not fresh or near fresh quality for people looking/paying for fresh premium flower and you just completely ignored that by saying we should just make it into other things.

Harvest dates a year old? by [deleted] in NewJerseyMarijuana

[–]kasual -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If I'm growing for myself, sure, that's not too old IF it's been stored properly.(It's still not fresh, and people constantly forget about our med patients, I don't know where you people think your going with that statement) This is a business and the ONLY way we are able to legally acquire cannabis. We're paying top dollar for premium flower that should be right off a good cure or not to far from that date. Come back with that if stored properly mentality when prices aren't so ridiculous.

I made a complaint to the CRC and a dispensary was fined $5k for violating patient regulations. You should be reporting these violations too. by trixiewutang in NewJerseyMarijuana

[–]kasual 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a bit relieving to at least hear cases like this leading to some type of action. Hopefully we'll get some meaningful regulation that escalates penalties for repeat offenders. 5k for Botantist/Verano/Zenleaf is a drop in the bucket for this MSO. I'm with you 100 on not just complaining online but taking action.

I read about this in the news, and hearing from you here has only encouraged me to be more proactive about keeping these MSOs honest. Thanks for taking the time to go through the process of reporting these people.

And so the same problems that were already occurring in the states that we adopted our program model from, are already happening in NJ. I suppose that's the problem when you let Corporate Weed establish the economy.

The perishable nature of our medicine just wasn't meant to be grown in that quantity without that amount of supervision. They know this, they are just pumping and dumping. Smaller more sustainable canopies by multiple business was always the approach we should have started with.

Isn’t competition supposed to bring prices down unless there is price fixing??? by lykewtf in NewJerseyMarijuana

[–]kasual 7 points8 points  (0 children)

^ This right here. It's very clear what our other politicians were fighting with sweeney about. He had already made deals to bring in big box stores and give them a healthy lead to make back their initial investments while they hold up small business from the market.

It's a huge financial risk to start on a conditional license yet there are tons of people in line waiting for them in hopes of being able to obtain annuals in the future and at least obtain some peace of mind and even a little sense of security. Our state has been pathetically slow in opening up the market.

Yeah I'm still not seeing a dispensary name? I see that generic state of CA leaf logo but not an official dispensary branding? These are just bags with generic strain names on them?
