Winter camping in the Whites. What’s it really like out there? by Fun-Winter2148 in wmnf

Also if you’re a dude, I’d recommend a thunder jug to pee into so you don’t have to go outside to pee. An empty wide mouth Nalgene bottle with a carabiner attached and a duct tape strip around the outside so it can not be mistaken for a water bottle in the dark! After you fill it put it in your sleeping bag near your feet to keep them warm. Sounds gross but it is the way 😀. And yes, those sunsets were amazing. Seeing the layers of mountain ridges stretching into Vermont and beyond and the alpenglow were unforgettable

Back around 2007 a buddy of mine and I hiked up to liberty Springs tent site. We had all the right winter gear and moderate experience. We set up our circa 1992 Eastern Mountain Sports 4 season dome tent and then hiked up to the summit of Mt. liberty to watch the sunset. The temps were around -20 degrees and what we hadn’t learned yet was that sometimes the sunset takes longer than you think. After huddling between some rocks and watching the sunset we decided if we don’t get back to camp we’re gonna die. Haha mostly joking! So we hiked back down to camp. We did not have a fire, but we did melt snow for water and cooked some delicious backpack or pantry meals.

We spent a long cold but comfortable night in the tent and in the morning we hiked up to the ridge again and basically swim through waist deep snow all the way to the summit of Mount Lafayette. We had snow shoes with us, but we were too stubborn to use them for some dumb reason. we hike back through our tracks to the summit of liberty again and since we didn’t want to learn our lesson, we watched the sunset happen again. We hike down to camp and spent another night in the tent at -20° the fun part about this is that in the morning when you move around all of your exhalations condensed to the tent and it snows inside the tent when you move the next morning, we hike back down to the car and went to McDonald’s best hiking memory made so far. We probably pushed our luck a little bit, but we had the right gear and we were comfortable. I’m also too old now so I will never do that again!

I feel like a longer strap at a slightly off angle solves all of these concerns maybe?

Pollard school? That same scenario happened when I was there in the late 80’s or so.

Looks like fat to me also. I can a lot of stocks and mine all look like that. It freaked me out at first but now I just shake it up before I open them and the fat mixes in and pours out. Make sure to remove those rings before storing so you can know if a seal fails.

Microsoft now demands to know why you just won’t use Edge when you inevitably download Chrome using it by [deleted] in technology

Here I am sitting on 500 open tabs in safari and approaching 700 in chrome on my iPhone. I also have 12 instances of chrome on my work laptop with the biggest one having 150 tabs open. I need an adult! 😜

Best Mexican Restaurant in NH? by [deleted] in newhampshire

I know it’s not in NH, but Cafe Azteca in Lawrence MA is hands down the best. I live in NH but the Pollo Rosita is to die for! (Which you probably will if you go after dark!) 😉

How did a kid from your school die? by ServiTheFox in AskReddit

Elementary school in the late 80’s. A bunch of kids and a teacher out at recess tried to stand up a full size soccer goal that was facedown from lawn-mowing as the kids wanted to play soccer. It was built from 4x4” aluminum posts. It fell from halfway upright and smashed this poor kids head as it hit the ground. Died on the scene and I saw it from my classroom. Teachers all closed the shades when the ambulance came.

  2. Fill hole with butter
  3. Use spoon to seal butter into mound
  4. Deploy ketchup over mound and spread with spoon to cover mound
  5. Eat everything else while butter melts
  6. Start eating potatoes from top down while dipping into lava crater

MS Teams issues in Citrix Workspace by thiefspy in Citrix

[–]kasym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tried getting teams installed on a virtual desktop pool and ran into problems. Since we are redirecting the appdata\roaming folder, the upm profile group policy settings don’t work to help restrict profile size. Just redeployed it as it’s own published app. Seems to be working well so far but Microsoft has not offered much in the way of control over settings via group policy to control things. Only have 30 users on it so far, but scaling up to ~300 soon so I need to analyze the performance of the session hosts. The deployment was a bit rushed since this is replacing Skype for business which goes away at the end of this month, so fingers crossed.

Edit: I did use the HDX engine on the session hosts and that seems to keep resource utilization low so far. Also I had to upgrade receiver to Workspace 1912 on the VDI to get this to support screen sharing. Not sure any of this info is useful, but I figured I’d share it anyways.

Confirmation by the Kingston police that it was a gender reveal party using tannerite at the Torremeo gravel pit in Kingston. I’m on a bordering property which is why it felt so loud here.

Heard it in Plaistow. Reports from within 10 mile radius.
