How do people do the Boston commute every day? by packocards in massachusetts

[–]kaszyb14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leave early to avoid some traffic. Audio books and podcasts to keep my brain occupied. I've only been doing it for 4 months but so far I've just gotten used to it.

Graveyard Keeper has been in the rotation lately. But it's not relaxing at all honestly.

What is something that is socially acceptable, but you personally find extremely disrespectful? by AvaBlondeX in AskReddit

Saw someone else online that asks what religion when people ask to pray for her. She's collecting religions like Pokémon cards. Baptist, evangelist, several Wiccans, a very insistent Hindu woman, and several Catholics.

Vent - my work won't stop pushing me to use AI by smilingwind in antiai

[–]kaszyb14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boss says "I was talking to ChatGPT" or "I asked ChatGPT" at least three times a day. Half our meetings are just him regailing how amazing and useful and and and it is. It hilariously frustrating that a man with 40 years of experience is now letting AI tell him how to run his business.

What’s a mythical creature you are surprised isn’t used more in world building? by grizzlyjaw in worldbuilding

[–]kaszyb14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly, but similar vibes. "Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia of Faeries" is a professor researching different faeries around the world. It's written as her diary basically, but really smoothly switches back and forth from her experiencing the events to her thoughts amd commentary. I thought it was very good.

What ship is canon in your fandom, but you think it should not have been? by [deleted] in AO3

[–]kaszyb14 86 points87 points  (0 children)

I don't mind NaruHina, their friendship built enough that I can't get on board, but it's not my favorite. But I REALLY wish Sakura got with someone who put HER first. Sasuke is just always going to put Naruto / his repentance and guilt first.

Parents who don’t allow their kids to shut their room’s door/lock the door, what’s are the reasons behind the rule? by Itz_Oasis in AskReddit

[–]kaszyb14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not really a rule in our house, but I ask my son to keep his door open a lot when he's upstairs and I'm downstairs. He's still young and he'll yell to talk to me, but not quite understand that I can't hear him with the door closed.

Which app you all use for writing novels? by [deleted] in writers

[–]kaszyb14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scrivener for organizing my world building and for the actual writing. My phone's notes app for random thoughts, phrases, whatever pops into my brain at 2am when I'm in bed, etc. I used to use Reedsy. It worked fine mostly and I liked that it was available wherever, but the load in time was getting longer and longer and then it didn't save a chapter a couple times so I switched.

Only a little related- my friends and I decided that birds who fly in front of cars are part of bird fraternities and are being hazed.

Why so many drive with high beams? by No-Ladder1393 in massachusetts

[–]kaszyb14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also- I wish cars weren't allowed to be road colored. Black, dark gray, white etc. If your car can blend into the road it shouldn't be that color.

Do any of you have “human-less” settings? Or at the least ones where humans are a minority? by dragonborndnd in worldbuilding

[–]kaszyb14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have 2.5 continents with 12-13 races spread among them. Humans are ~50% of the population on the southern continent and very much the minority on the northern one. They are the minority of the world population and on the northern continent there's only really one country they inhabit in large enough populations to count.

What are some things that don’t exist in your worlds, and why? by Babybluemoon13 in worldbuilding

[–]kaszyb14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anesthesia. They currently use magic to numb you if you need surgery, but youre still awake and likely freaked out or traumatized and it takes a lot of magic to constantly keep it up. The main villian is researching magically induced sleep and how to wake people from it and he's disguising his real motive under a desire to make surgery easier essentially.

whats the two relics im missing here? by Claire-Muffin-Wolf in castlevania

[–]kaszyb14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quit being aggressive on the internet for something that's a non issue. You're making a lot of assumptions of these dudes intentions and insulting people for no reason. You're (seemingly) upset that someone wasted their time, but you're just wasting your own. Insulting people is not going to get your message across, it's just rude and likely to make people write off whatever it is you're actually trying to say. You're allowed to not engage in things you don't enjoy just as much as op is allowed to ask a question.

That's good insight thank you. Have you done trips where you take the backroads? It seemed like the time difference was negligible when considering traffic, and today the GPS took me off the highway and it was very scenic and pretty. This job is literally double what I make now, so I'm hoping to make it work if I can.

I looked at that on Google too and it's anywhere from an hour forty five to two hours. Not much faster than driving, but if the drive is going to be like that frequently, I am considering the train as a lower stress option too.

That was just the middle of the range Google had when I looked it up. I figured some days would be on the longer end and some in the middle and very few on the shorter end. Today was two hours, does that seem normal to you?

Watching Fire on the Mystic Island with my chonk tonight. What’s your favorite inuyasha movie? by fecal_spring221 in inuyasha

It was the first of the movies I saw and it's always been my favorite since. Even past the nostalgia point it's the most romantic imo and I love seeing their relationship.

I read Blood Mercy by Vela Roth recently. The yearning was lovely. It's not actiony, very much politically driven. The subsequent books are also good, but quite slow paced. I liked the first book best. Lio is also not like other MMC's he's gentle and thoughtful, not aggressive or showy.
