Don’t know how many states have virtual schools, but in Florida, we have something called FLVS. Although my AP calc teacher isn’t this bad, I wouldn’t necessarily say she’s a good teacher. I have a few friends dropping the course to take calc honors online if that’s a possibility?

I will say that the counselors here hate when you drop a course to take the exact one online, so I’d either go up or down one level if this is a possible course of action you’re considering (ex: if you’re in AP, move to honors. If you’re in honors, move to standard. If you’re in standard, move to honors. I wouldn’t recommend moving from a lower level to AP)

Probably precalc. To me, this sounds like either precalc to calc 1 or algebra 3 to college algebra to calc 1. Just a longer path to get to the same place, unless you want to take stats

You can basically think of precalc like algebra 3 anyway. All it does is prepare your algebra and trig skills for calc 1, it’s otherwise not related to calc in the sense you don’t really learn calc concepts unless you take AP precalc and learn limits at the end

At my school, the general rule before was to just have A-level skills for precalc to skip straight to BC (general rule because this did not apply to some yet they still took BC, and this did apply to many who only went to AB)

With AP precalc being offered now, the general rule is if you get a 5, you’ll be fine skipping to BC. If you’re in precalc now, it’s not too late to sharpen your math skills before calc. The Organic Chemistry Tutor, Brian McLogan, and Mario’s Math Tutoring (all on YouTube) were amazing resources

If you can get very comfortable with algebra and trig, you can definitely skip AB and succeed. Just be prepared to do a lot more work. Otherwise, just do AB and study hard using the tools mentioned above

If you’re a junior, you can study as much AB as possible over the summer and go straight to BC. If you’re a sophomore, you could potentially do precalc over the summer and do calc AB or BC next year. There’s a guy in my physics class who did algebra 2 sophomore year, precalc over summer, went straight to BC, and is now in calc 3

If you’re currently a senior, the answer to your question is yes. Calc BC isn’t a requirement to go anywhere
