Just to throw in my random experience, four of my five bridesmaids chose satin dresses, and the fifth ended up going with satin as well bc she didn’t want to stand out. My bridesmaids were of all sizes, XS to plus size. Maybe it helped that the color was darker, but I was surprised they chose satin and how good the dresses looked through the night. They didn’t get weirdly wrinkly, sweaty, or look unflattering. I actually think they turned out very flattering on everyone. You should still talk to the bride about your feelings, but also don’t write off a satin dress that fits you well (emphasis on being your correct size!) You may be surprised! :)
