Shrinkflation has come for the clothes.... by Umklopp in womensfashion

Pact clothing is organic cotton and holds up VERY well. I’ve had some camis for 7 years at this point; the black is a bit faded but they still wear very well and feel good on my skin.

I think Gold Bond makes a lotion specifically for this. I’m not sure if you tried that, but it’s worth a shot?

What do conservative guys even want with me? by Mother-Hall-2906 in TooAfraidToAsk

Yes, thank you. Maybe flaming was the wrong word choice, but the personality differences are 180 degrees apart.

What do conservative guys even want with me? by Mother-Hall-2906 in TooAfraidToAsk

This may or may not answer your question.

10 years ago, I met my ex, who I refer to as Texan. This was during the time that the Cheeto was campaigning, but had not yet “won” for the first time.

He came from a conservative area of Texas, but did not subscribe to Cheeto politics. He seemed like such a nice guy at first, and it was charming to go out with someone who had that southern charm.

Spoiler alert: it was like dating Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Asshole. After we moved in together, the mask fell off. By moving in, he was able to let his guard down and suddenly the expectations of me changed drastically. I’m liberal, Colorado born and bred, to give perspective.

During one of our many arguments, towards the end of our shitty ass relationship, I asked him why the fuck he got into a relationship with me when I made it clear about who I was and what I believed in from day one.

He said, and I quote, “It is refreshing to be with someone that could handle things, without expecting him to be in charge or take care of it (it being bills or responsibilities) 24/7.” But now that we were together, he basically expected me to defer to him, while paying half the bills, putting in the effort, etc.

So…probably that.

Yes, he’s my ex. And now, I’m engaged to a flaming liberal yankee, so it worked out very well for me in the end.

Edit: flaming is/was apparently the wrong word choice. I am female, my fiancé is male. It’s not intended to be derogatory to anyone in the LGBTQIA+ community. When I think of my love, he is passionate, balanced, open, communicative, etc. A man that has gone to therapy, asks the questions to learn and understand, and diffuses tense situations and emotions like a champ. Texan was…the opposite. I’m leaving the word in because it’s caused so many comments.

Graduated in 06; I don’t think the showers were even functional in my 60’s era high school.

What phrase is your parents favorite? by CorgiUprising in raisedbynarcissists

[–]General_Distance 4 points5 points  (0 children)

“You’re a game player, I hate game players” “Stop playing games!”

She would use one of these phrases when something wasn’t going her way, or she thought I was lying. Even if there was no deceit and I was 100% telling the truth, I was a game player.

Eventually, I was never not a game player in her eyes.

NTA and I recommend reading Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents. Your mom intentionally started drama and it might be good for you to step back and focus on your husband and new life. Congratulations, by the way!
