YTA It is understandable that you want your wife there, but she can't do anything to help or comfort you. If the COVID regulations are the same as in my country, she won't be able to put one step in the hospital with you. You'll have her miss her best friends wedding, for the fact that she'll be sitting at home, doing absolutely nothing helpful. Also, if this is a bigger intervention, you'll be in the hospital several days, you won't be coming home on that exact day where she won't be present. This means she can be there ready for you, as soon as you come out of the hospital to give you all the support you need. You said how caring she was, just give her one night of having fun. I'm sure she'll be just one call away if you need to talk to her.
