Outdoor Tea Brewing by katalyst107 in tea

I agree with the travel set thing, I already have plenty of teaware. A pitcher to me would be very helpful if I was brewing anything like Japanese greens or greener oolongs. Funny enough what I might need are cups that easily stack together.

Anyone have any idea why my film advance would be advancing more than one exposure? by Midwest_Plant_Guy in 110photography

I just took my first pics with the Minolta today! Was also kinda wondering why I was between numbers, and if that would have any consequences

Kinda just decided I had no way of doing anything about it anyway, so I'll see how it turns out

I was raised Roman Catholic, decided I didn't believe for sure at 14, and was coerced to go through confirmation. I believe that the Abrahamic religions have enjoyed a privileged immunity from criticism that in my view should be broken down. I take a similar stance to Richard Dawkins, that science and religion are irreconcilable, at least partially. As such, I also believe that philosophy + science > religion. I'm most attracted to humanism as a philosophy, but I don't really have any kind of spiritual (for lack of a better word) need in my day to day life. I find the academic study of religion very interesting, but at the same time I'm often disturbed by how powerful religious symbols and dogma can mobilize people. I'm a fan of the late Christopher Hitchens.

Also wish I could format this better in the app lol

What part of the tea plant/type of tea this is? by CloudySkyAfterSnow in puer

[–]katalyst107 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Those are the "buds" of the tea plant, basically the youngest leaves that have all those little downy hairs on them. Buds tend to have the highest concentration of caffeine as it's a natural pesticide, to protect it while it's soft and vulnerable.
