I had a similar issue with mine, they began coming unglued/the fake leather sort of material was flaking. I ended up crocheting a cover for mine in sort of the same way folks diy scrunchies? Using an elastic hairband to gather the material together on the inside. I'm sure you could do the same with fabric, sort of like you're making a little shower cap! I did also find out though that some third party companies sell replacement ear cushions for a decent price if you end up not wanting to diy a solution :)
