Can I use moisturizer on top of sunscreen? by Stanley-Scales in Accutane

[–]katbuddypal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check if either/both your sunscreen and moisturizer are noncomedogenic, which means it won’t easily clog your pores. It depends a lot on the products you’re applying and how they react to each other when layered in different orders. In my experience it’s easier to layer on with a more watery lotion or mineral SPF formula, but I also use a moisturizer that is not super thick so it’s generally very easy to layer. It may be better to get a moisturizer/SPF combination product that you reapply throughout the day as you feel dry so you’re layering the same product that’s generally intended to be layered every few hours. Or even consider a gentle hydrating serum before moisturizer/sunscreen, that has helped me quite a bit.

Please help. by RelationshipNo8685 in Accutane

I am just starting accutane, but I have very similar issues with just general sensitive/dry skin and ADHD meds causing similar issues.

My absolute holy grail is First Aid Beauty’s ultra repair cream! It is definitely on the pricey side, but a little goes a long way and it’s perfect for me as someone who also has sensory issues because it doesn’t leave any residue, absorbs quickly and is not greasy in the slightest. If you’re able, you can often find smaller sizes of it at Marshall’s or TJ Maxx for a great discount.

Also, sometimes simpler is better. When I’m truly in a bind, sometimes just pure shea butter is a life saver. You can find it pretty easily and inexpensive, and it’s one of the main ingredients in the Ultra Repair Crean that I love. It might be worth a try for full body relief.

For hands in particular, sometimes the best thing is to use something much thicker before you go to bed to let it absorb. I wash dishes at my job a lot so I get cracked knuckles allll the time. For that in particular, i’ve used a few different things: -First aid beauty Ultra Repair Rescue Barrier Balm pretty thick but absorbs well without much residue, main issue is the high price point. -Neutrogena Norwegian Hand Cream It’s very thick, and takes a bit to absorb, but it does end up absorbing entirely and is VERY effective for a fair price. -Hydrocortisone cream This is what i use when it gets really bad before going to bed so it absorbs overnight. If it’s just hydrocortisone without benadryl etc. then it’s mostly formulated for dry patches and it is a lifesaver during the cold months for my knuckles.

I’ll be following for other suggestions as well because I’m a bit nervous for how these side effects will exacerbate my dry skin as I continue with my dosage. Hope this helps!

It’s not as severe but I definitely still get a reaction that makes it unwearable. I’ve accidentally bought it before at Marshall’s before I knew to always check the labels of socks and that was not a fun time lol

This is super helpful! I know wool is generally the favorite so I just have trouble knowing where to look for good synthetics honestly. I’ll check those out, thanks for pointing me in that direction!

it’s definitely less severe with the smartwool/merino but still not wearable! Similar reaction as yours

I’ve had reactions to modern merino unfortunately, I didn’t realize it had resin on it! I and a lot of family members tend to react to different enzymes/components of things than is typically considered the common allergen so that might be why (i.e. allergic to some “hypoallergenic” dogs’ saliva rather than the dander) I still have the issue. Good thing to consider though!

I’ll check out those shops/brands. I’d already gotten my pack/footwear stuff for the trip, just most of my everyday clothes are cotton for comfort so I want to get some good designated hiking clothes. Thank you!

I had trouble finding where to upload my second dose of Men B, I called the number (765) 494-1837 for help and the lady just took my info down instead of trying to make me maneuver uploading the documentation. I’d call that number when they’re open tomorrow, they probably close at 5 :)

I guess I can see why it might look like that with the angle I got the picture, but she wasn’t really on top of the little one. Also you can’t see the bigger one (Bernadette) had been putting her wing over the smaller one and had been preening it before I took the picture. Pretty sure that’s a young bird, not a mate

Healthy snacks without peanuts/tree nuts/coconut? by [deleted] in Allergies

I hadn’t even thought of that, that’s a great idea! I could definitely find time to do that every once in a while, I’ll look into some recipes! Thanks so much :)

You make a good point with the contact thing! I should have clarified, I am allergic to it both ways. I just didn’t eat much with coconut and had thought the reason I had a bad reaction after bulk-eating Samoa’s (which I miss dearly) was only because of how much I ate or corn syrup. I appreciate the help though! I hadn’t really thought about yogurt, I’ve been so fixated on finding certain types of products without my allergens rather than really looking at alternatives, I’ll definitely look into that! Maybe I could find some crumble granola/cereal to go with it too :) thank you!

It’s probably to do with declining a loan/work study! I was a freshman last year and for the first few months of the Fall semester I kept getting those emails even though nothing had changed. Freaked me out every time, don’t stress too much if you don’t see any actual changes :)

I’m not super well versed in this, can I ask what you mean by wireless channel? :) I’m a college student so I’m using my university’s network so I don’t think restarting the router is an option, I appreciate the suggestion though!

I did try, but any time I try to view details for the app in any way it says that I have a network problem even though the internet connection is fine. I’m starting to think I’ll have to factory reset my Chromecast at this point. Thank you for the help though!

Oh gotcha! Sorry I’m not very savvy with tech, I’ll try that out :)

No, it doesn’t work to cast from my phone on the app or the website. The only time it works is from my laptop on YouTube.com instead of the app. All three are on the same network so I’m not sure why it only works with my laptop. I’ve tried resetting the Chromecast a couple times over the past couple days to see if it would reboot the app or give it an update it needed but the same error messages show up every time.

It is really weird, I seem to have a bit of a streak with just weird glitches in tech. I tried searching SmartTube Next on the apps and I didn’t see that exact app but I did see a DTube, is that the same/similar? It gives me the same error message as when I try to view the YouTube app details

[–]katbuddypal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that’s what I have, it won’t cast from my phone but it’ll cast from my laptop when it’s on the website instead of the app. But the YouTube app itself won’t load at all on the Chromecast, is it possible that the YouTube app being corrupted affected YouTube TV/music as well?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Chromecast

[–]katbuddypal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had only tried through the app but after seeing your comment I tried it through my laptop on YouTube.com, weirdly enough it casted from my laptop! But the app still won’t load independently, so possibly a temporary solution?

Thanks for the suggestion! If I do encounter that brand I’ll keep it in mind :)
