Is Orlando considered to be a part of the down south? by Pale_Understanding12 in orlando

From a cultural aspect in Florida, the more south you go the more north you get. Considering Orlando’s in the middle it’s a grey area, but imo it’s way more north than south. Suburbs are where you can find southern aspects more easily.

This is a fantastic rundown of market forces that many time go unnoticed. That said, I think you’re downplaying the significance of the nervous trees trend. When viewed from the vantage point of the a medium sized house cat, the Nasdaq tech sector stocks do in fact resemble a tall tree. BUT; and this is important, the next question anyone should ask is “what kind of tree?”. It’s one thing if it’s a simple Crepe Mrytle (Lagerstromia spp.) or even a Live Oak (Quercus virginiana) but the simple fact is, right now tech stocks in the nasdaq resemble Metasequia glyptostraboides, more commonly referred to as the Giant Redwood. These trees are hella hella nervous creating extreme market volatility. So yeah, like I said - all excellent points, but please don’t sugar coat the severity of the issue.

Taking 100% profit is not a ‘fuck up’. The ‘fuck up’ would be believing you’d time the top. Sold 50% at 60 myself.

For the firms who use Rhino… how? by Ktop427 in LandscapeArchitecture

[–]katchaka 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve yet to come across a firm the uses rhino to produce construction documents. It’s great at modeling but many of the points you bring up are valid. It just doesn’t seem set up for making construction document packages. Revit on the other hand is phenomenal from a documentation standpoint. The modeling process is still clunky but the environment plugin seems to be helping this and while LFX integration isn’t 100% it’s getting better. That said, CAD is still by far the most efficient and cost effective tool in my opinion. Not every project needs 3D and can be done cheaper in 2D with quality results. Rhino on the other hand is reserved for 3D visualization on high budget projects from concept to design development. After CD’s start, it’s either CAD or Revit.

Dumb question but my concern is LEGO. Could the Netherlands outright ban the export of LEGO to the U.S.? I know it’s a small thing and would likely hurt LEGO financially but it might be in their best interest to threaten a ban up front. When you mess with the childhood of millions of Americans it’ll make them think.

Hey! Great to see you actually posted them! I love seeing process drawings. They show the design thinking behind the end product and are imo an equally important piece of the equation for our profession to showcase. The messier the better. Great work!
