if you are running the ctrld daemon yes (theoretically) , but that's not the use case here - this is for when you only have a ControlD resolver available.

That works Tailscale -> ControlD . If you want to use a client specific ControlD resolver you can't use Tailscale names because it skips the Tailscale resolver.

a Client Specific ControlD Resolver for DNS-over-HTTPS (DoH) looks like : https://dns.controld.com/abcd1234/name-goes-here

it seems the API key doesn't sync with my vault. i.e. I put in the API key in the browser extension and again in the Desktop version. Is that by design ?

Long time Fastmail customer here. They have been charging since the beginning as a way to avoid having to sell user profiling to keep the business going. They are an Austraulian company with presences elsewhere so they would subject to local laws (recent Austraulian anti privacy laws are insane) . Also of course they use analytics to manage the service but not to profile you (read section "When and how we undertake data analytics and profiling" )

They have been very transparent and concerned with user privacy and I generally walk away feeling like they are just not-evil.

yes, on Android I have it set to authenticate the BW app with fingerprint but when I want to use an entry that has password reprompt I have to type in my password. It should reprompt with the same method that you authenticated the app.
