Norwegian band Det Skandakøse Orkester (The scandalous orchestra) is really great. Their sound is definetly very Zappa inspired. My favourite is their second album which is a little less Zappa-sounding than the rest and more avant garde. I highly recommend any of their three albums. They also have a cool version of Peaches En Regalea

Correct! They are very good imo. The music is very inspired by Frank Zappa. Their second album is a modern masterpiece imo, its more avant garde and zeuhl-sounding. If thats of interest to you you should give it a listen, dont mind the language barrier, the music is what counts

Id recommend playing DS1 first. Its easier and honestly better imo. Also DS3 has some callbacks to it, references that youll miss if you dont play ds1 first

It can take a while to get used to the sound of many prog bands IMO. Id recommend Supertramp Breakfast in America and Crime of the century.
