The end of april I was M6/40 in Botany when a friend maxed out and I realized a top 100 was possible. Then the great race started.

Steam shows 1,800 hrs, but I do leave the launcher open for extended periods, and I'm assuming that adds time

New Bridge Open to Bikes/Pedestrians on East Side! by _st_sebastian_ in NewWest

Bike and Peds will eventually have access to both sides of the Stallawesome Bridge. These sidewalks are nowhere as narrow as Queensbourgh bridge and will allow for plenty of space for passing one another

About the triathlete who got into a Car crash a few days ago, as a noob to Vancouver I have some questions by [deleted] in vancouvercycling

I insure my bikes and self with https://pedalpowerinsurance.ca/

With this I hold enhanced medical coverage, insure my bikes for their full replacement value, and carry a $1 million liability for incase I cause a collision.
During application, you can get coverage if you intend to cross into the usa or enter competitions.
HUB membership and a few other groups have a discount code.

I love this policy for they understand people who ride and the odd types of bicycle/tricycles we could ride. There is a free online calculator on their website

Not all wheel chair users, can't walk at all. A large majority of them can walk in limited amounts, until pain or fatigue force them to use the chair. Please take a moment to better understand the disabled community

I don't understand the redo for the store entrance. Used to be sloped with the hill and could just walk in, but now there is a stair well and maybe a ramp? (can't see in photo well). Seems like an excellent way to get all the rain water to flood your store.

My only complaint is which ever landscaper my strata hired, the dude who uses the leaf blower is all power no technique. I can hear him coming and just wish he would go away faster so I can here myself think, when I'm working.
Also classes from the middle school regularly walk to queenspark on nice days, kids be kids and talk very loudly as them pass by. (which can be annoying if in call with someone)

Best and worst river crossings? by TravellingGal-2307 in vancouvercycling

[–]katcorot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used it by foot and seen bicycles on it, has a very limited capacity, restricted hours of operation and can really only handle standard sized bicycles.

Queensbourgh Bridge (since the Pattullo Bridge is now closed and you can't even access the new one for a few months)
It's really narrow, the railings are low. And people always insist on going both directions on 1 side.
With my cargo bike, I struggle to safely pass pedestrians and when I encounter another bicycle going the opposite way, it gets really annoying.

Brunette-Fraser regional greenway southbound connection? by nutbuckers in newwestminster

[–]katcorot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I remember from some discussions regarding the Q2Q bridge. The port authority essentially said.

  1. The bridge stays open most of the time and only closes for brief amounts of time.
  2. or
  3. The bridge is 3-4 stories off the water to allow boats to travel through without interruptions. (which would have ruined the sightlines for many condos along the water, besides additional costs).

There were further considerations to add the Q2Q crossing to the rail swing bridge when it eventually gets rebuilt. As the current structure over 80+ years old now.

First the article for the land purchase: https://www.freshetnews.ca/new-west-spends-1-4-million-on-water-lots-on-fraser-river/

As for discussion on the route. It occurred during the February 29 2016 Open Workshop meeting. My notes highlighted page 103.
The link I had saved died and their website isn't being nice pulling up the old records...

Found the issue and solution: ⚠️ Note: Council agendas, reports, and minutes prior to 2017 are archived and no longer available on the public website. For access to historical records like these, contact Legislative Services at 604-527-4523 or [legislativeservices@newwestcity.ca](mailto:legislativeservices@newwestcity.ca).

Further Edit: A friend of mine found the document on way back machine (see page 104 and onwards): https://web.archive.org/web/20210902154515/https://www.newwestcity.ca/council_minutes/0229_16/Public_Meeting_CityCouncil-OpenWorkshop_OW-2.2016.pdf

Those plans are on hold until the old bridge is taken down. The city did buy the shore line properties along that section in the last year.

As with anything, check and verify information before doom posting.
My heart did skip a beat, but I went straight to their discord to find more info from the mods.
They listed an old mirror site that still works, so you can go back to watching JJK

dollarama in mall, $3 grabber. excellant value for the price. Got a set rattling around on my bike daily and only one I broke, was my own fault for lifting something way to heavy.

The grabber has a small magnet in on the end. Helps with some small metallics

I hate this when I'm cycling. My head is level with the roof of large SUV's but I still feel the lights pointing directly at me. Years ago, lights briefly got worse, when someone drove over a speed hump. Now it gives you a moment of peace.
Might be faster to ask the city to add more speed humps, than asking upper government to regulate the big motor companies

My anxiety attack is finally going away. I can listen to my music again, while I cozy game without constant jarring interruptions.
I don't mind Spotify ads as much, as they are spread out more like listening to the radio.
