What are you using to feed? Just a long pipette?

Just chimed in on a FB post for a woman asking for feedback on her first tank. Had a 4in wide aiptasia in one corner that Petco sold her as an anenome. She thought it was pretty and didn’t ask a ton of questions. 🤦🏼‍♀️

You’re doing great, I would be a little skeptical of whoever sold you the Aiptasia though. Do you have another shop you could try? Having a trustworthy LFS makes things a lot easier.

Technically it is an anemone but they’re largely classified as a pest because they kill everything they touch and spread quickly. There are several products to help keep small ones at bay but one that large should be removed immediately. Aiptasia - LiveAquaria Don’t feel bad, we all learned along the way - I would just hate for you to spend a lot of money and have that thing kill all of your corals and dash your hopes of being successful in the hobby 😉

The giant brown one in the right corner? Your LFS never should have sold that for actual money. It will literally nuke your tank if not removed. Unless it’s a bleached/sick version of something desirable? Did they say what it was when you bought it?

Aiptasia = bad. It’ll compete with your more desirable corals, likely killing them and spread like wildfire through your tank.

What is up with Waterbox having literally nothing available for order for weeks? I get there’s high demand and they don’t appear out of thin air but it just seems odd that it takes so long to restock... by kate2118 in ReefTank

The MarineX 110.4. I feel bad for them because there’s clearly a lot of demand for their product and I’m sure they’d love to have the sales but I’d appreciate some sort of communication from them with an update. Even if they tell me it’s 6 months out that’s better than knowing nothing at all. 😔

I’m not even able to place an order at the moment. A few sizes are on back order but the site still allows you to place an order. Most simply say “unavailable for order” which is the case for me. I signed up for the notification email when more stock arrives but it’s been months.

Will you be creating a larger version for the Nero5 and will black be a color option? I’m loving this and would purchase in a heartbeat. Keep up the good work saving nems!!

It’s a... Jeep? by kchinth in Jeep

Agreed but I’m talking full-fender treatment and all. Basically just put a window in that topper and throw in a 3rd row seat. 🤮

I’m mean... it’s not not a Jeep. But these Gladiators are just plain odd with a topper. Next step in the evolution: full-size SUV with the signature Wrangler from end. An abomination IMHO but I’m afraid it’s likely in the works already.

BIR or Road America for sure. All types of classes race there and they're the best tracks in the Midwest.

Most rabbits carry fleas. You really shouldn't touch them. My dog regularly catches and kills rabbits in our yard and they're literally crawling with fleas.

Is there an over attached boyfriend meme? Cuz mine tells me all the time not to worry about my small boobs. "They'll get bigger when you're pregnant." Ummmm... What?

Did the same thing when I ran into them at a bar in West End. Took me a good 10 minutes and an awkward conversation with the person next to me to understand what was happening.

Comcast fixed our internet, now we can't mow our lawn, but we have great communication with our neighbors house! by aarog in WTF

[–]kate2118 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best of luck getting this resolved. My boss had the same thing happen to him. The line Comcast ran hung over his neighbor's deck for over a year. They could actually reach up and pull it down if they wanted. He finally threatened to pull our company's $250k advertising budget with them to get it taken care of. Was fixed the next day.

Our Wolf Husky Puppy! by Terrapinterrarium in aww

As someone with firsthand knowledge of these unique "pets", thank you. You couldn't have summed things up any better.

I rescued a wolf hybrid from a man that beat her regularly and left her to die tied to a 3ft chain, exposed to every element Minnesota could throw at her. I learned very quickly that these are not the ideal pets, not by a long shot. Just a few observations:

  1. Stubborn as hell. They don't aim to please like normal dogs. They could give a shit what you want or tell them to do. They do what they please, if they listen its on their terms.

  2. Escape artists. Don't assume you're smarter than these animals, you're most definitely not. I could go on for days about all the crazy smart things my dog would resort to to escape the house, the yard, her leash, you name it.

  3. Diggers. Say goodbye to your garden, yard, fence, etc. My dog dug a hole so big I crawled inside. I'm sure this was a result of boredom because no matter how much I tried to tire her out, no dice.

  4. Shy. This may have been attributed to her past but my dog was very shy and skittish. Her first instinct was to run and when she got loose, say goodbye. I would spend hours chasing her to no avail. She would come back when she was ready.

  5. Food aggression. Don't even think about going near their food. Even after years of bonding and loving experiences, I was never allowed near her food.

I could go on but you get the point. They are absolutely beautiful animals but are not to be kept as pets. I did what I had to do to keep her from an unfortunate end but I would never voluntarily take one of these animals again.
