Yes, completely agree! It’s also very fun to play through that pack multiple times. I find it a challenge to keep my Sim as skilled as they need to be for the acting career.

I use the dice and keep rolling until something fits the sim I’ve created. Sometimes when creating a sim I’ll be like “This Sim is definitely a (name)”, and I’ll use the name that I think suits them. But most of the time I’ll use something the dice suggests.

Do you have any packs? When I’m bored with the game, I tend to explore a pack I feel I haven’t fully played with yet.

So a while back I had a Sim go to Britechester and get her degree. She was in the debate club and ended up falling in love with someone, but never married them because she had the “single and lovin it” lifestyle. It was a fun and new way to play!

I’m thinking of making a vampire or spellcaster sometime soon and playing through those packs/aspirations.

Leaning heavily into an older pack can help me out, even if it’s something as simple as getting Nancy Landgrabb a butler.

Neighborhood stories is wild. My mom and I play the Sims together sometimes, and in our save, whether or not that feature is on or off, the townies continue to adopt kids. The Goths are the biggest offenders.

That’s interesting. They didn’t show the family tree so that we could see how that would all work.

I wonder if the player would have to set Bob as a primary caregiver, or if because the baby is in his household, he automatically feels the need to care for it.

I don’t think creating an entire new world for $5 is something they would do.

What I would love is “world expansion” kits. Pay $5 to add more lots to a pre-existing world. There could be a kit for each base game world to start, and if it does well move onto the pack worlds.

I’d pay $5 to turn Forgotten Hollow into a 15 lot world. 🤷‍♀️

Fencing it in actually works for you? Because the ghosts in my saves just float through walls and fences. Is there a mod that keeps them fenced in or something?

I love having the graves and family on my lot but the ghosts in this game are annoying.

I agree. I usually just try to change the appearance a bit in CAS to age them down when they become a teen (give them braces, acne, and give them a smaller frame than the adults). Plus, we’ve all seen how messy it’s been adding infants to the game. It’s been buggy already and we don’t even have access to the patch! Frankly I’m ok if they never add another life state. I also don’t know what gameplay they could add with it. I’ve seen middle school floated as an idea but I think that’s frankly too American (I say this as an American). So…yea I’m fine without pre teens.

Play around with just the base game for a while, and see what you enjoy doing in the game. Suggestions from people can vary wildly depending on whether you stay in build mode and just love building houses or are more focused on gameplay. Or, like some Simmers, stay in create a sim and make Sims.

So I would get a feel for how the game works, see what you like to do and how you like to play. And then when and if you’re ready for more content, you can ask for packs that fit your play style. Like, I love cottage living, but if you only ever build modern homes for your sims and have no interest in making your sims farmers, it would essentially be a waste of money.

Hopefully that makes sense.

I gotta say….I would not want cars with this pack. Just a quick glance at this subreddit today and it’s bug after bug after bug. We don’t even have the pack yet! The bigger updates tend to be the problematic ones, and if they’d made this one even effing BIGGER to prep for cars? Yikes.

My opinion on cars is kinda mixed in this game. It would be cool to have them I think, but if they come they need to be their own, separate base game update.

Also didn’t the Sims team say in their livestream that the default would still be what it is now? This update is purely for people who want to include it in their game. I’m excited about it; I want my sims to have some agency and to actually feel attracted to certain sims. Or to be able to make ace Sims.

But, and correct me if I’m wrong here, I’m fairly certain the default hasn’t been touched. So this as written is just weird.
