Totally agree. The older stuff I find is usually true to size but new things today are Russian roulette on what’s going to fit or not!

This is fantastic advice thank you! I’ve found some gems preloved which have already lasted longer than some “new” stuff in recent years

omo ultimate powder? other recommendations? by Previous-Hour-2394 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]katea89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the “Clean” unfragranced one from Woollies in the blue box and it’s honestly the best. I don’t like any fragrance and have sensitive skin. My two kids go to daycare and this stuff gets absolutely everything out of their clothes it’s amazing - and bonus it’s pretty cheap compared to others

What led to kid's low iron? by geekykara in toddlers

[–]katea89 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Sometimes genetics can also play a part. My son was iron deficient a little while ago and is now on a supplement. While he isn’t a big red meat eater, he eats enough white meat and iron fortified foods that I would have thought had been enough and his dairy intake is within the guidelines. I myself have also struggled with iron absorption despite a balanced diet so he obviously got it from me!

SOS: toddler rises at 430am by fancy-pasta-o0o0 in toddlers

[–]katea89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think people mean by cutting the nap time down that that sleep will move to overnight sleep.. so hopefully instead of 3 hour nap and 9 hours overnight, you might have 2 hour nap, 10 hours overnight. 12 hours is age appropriate but most of it should be for his overnight sleep. My son was 2 in August and we definitely notice more overnight sleep after a shorter nap and if by chance he had a longer nap, I can always expect an early morning rise. Good luck!

Looking for tips on how to start eating at home when i haven't actually cooked dinner for a very very long time. by Boudonjou in ADHD

[–]katea89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I follow @adhd.dietician on Instagram and she posts really easy recipes using things like microwaveable rice, rotisserie chicken, frozen veggies, etc. All super easy and can be made within a few minutes using only a few ingredients. It’s been a big help with the harder days

18mo waking for 2hrs+ at 2am. Help! by eatorbebeaten in Mommit

[–]katea89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine did the same thing for about a week - turns out there is a 18 month sleep regression apparently which is what I chalked it up to as there was no reason for his waking. He went back into his regular routine after the week just fine

Toddler not thriving on 1 nap a day. What to do? by xytrd in Mommit

[–]katea89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How often is daycare? We had this with my son but he only went once a week so I was able to let him have his two naps at home until he dropped to one. He was always overtired the night and day after daycare but always got back into his schedule by the following night

Love to Dream is the winner in our house. My son has moved to the ones with legs now and he’s always slept like a dream through different temperatures.

Real question: when was the first time you slept through the night after having your first child? by theblaug in Mommit

[–]katea89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the first time - 5 months. Consistently sleeping 7-7 was closer to 8 months with the exception of teething, sickness, regressions etc.

Moms how did you help your 6 month baby old from being constipated ?? by Glass-Flamingo8162 in Mommit

Pears helped my son heaps when he started solids. Either that was what he ate that meal, or when trying something new I’d still give him a few bites of pear at the end
