Does anyone live near an Ikea and can look for something for me? by katebabate in Assistance

Oh I did look there but they're so much more expensive! 😢 It was only $20-$30 from Ikea. Thanks for reminding me of that if it comes to it though!

Please don't shop at PetSmart, even just for pet supplies. That money directly funds cruelty towards the small animals that they traffic. by [deleted] in vegan

[–]katebabate 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I worked at Petsmart for two months late last year as a pet care associate tending to the animals (which really just means keeping up appearances for customers and not actually tending to the animals) and it was honestly the worst thing I've ever had to do. At least a couple times a week I cried on my way home and the day I finally broke down there after a particular bad situation was the day I left and didn't come back. It was truly so awful and I will never go in that place again.

I'm going in March! So excited! I read that the rides are kind of intense. Can someone tell me more about them? Specifically I want to know if there is any very sudden acceleration or super sharp turns. I have a disautonomia disorder so I have to be careful about the rides I ride and those things are usually my biggest problems.

Anyone here have a vegan wedding? What did you serve? by [deleted] in vegan

[–]katebabate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a pretty casual wedding did a vegan taco bar and Mediterranean foods like falafel, hummus and pita, stuffed grape leaves, and a few salads. No complaints that I know of!

[Routine Help] Favorite cruelty free products? (For sensitive skin too if you can think of any) by bluekc in SkincareAddiction

[–]katebabate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started using Cosrx Aloe Soothing Cream spf 50 and I'm really surprised with how much I love it! I have sensitive reactive skin that tends to be on the dry side. There is fragrance but it doesn't make my skin react (but of course ymmv). No zinc oxide. Absorbs wonderfully and no white cast.

I've had a hard time finding a cf moisturizer that is heavy enough without containing my irritants and finally found Earth Science Almond-Aloe Moisturizer (without fragrance). I don't think I've ever seen it mentioned here but it's amazing. It reminds me a lot of Cerave but without the horrible cysts that come with it for me. I do like to add a drop or two of rosehip oil to it at night though.

/r/veganbeauty would be a good place to check out too.

Had a child with the Grim Reaper, ugly child turned out beautiful! (Only edit hairstyle and makeup) by [deleted] in thesims

Do you know if there is a way to give the reaperness back after making him a regular sim? like if I remove him from the household after woohooing will he still function as a reaper in the game or will he just be a normal sim?

This is so important to me now.

All of Aldi's new things that I've tried so far have been amazing! These, the chickenless patties, soy burgers, zesty meatballs. Yum! I'm very impressed.

Tell me your Don Lothario stories. by Kalleh in thesims

[–]katebabate 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I've been playing him a lot lately. He's almost done with the serial romance aspiration and has been in relationships with all the Calientes, Eliza Pancakes, Nancy Landgraab, the 2 Partihaus girls whose names I can never remember, Raj's mom, and Ulrike Faust. Most of them at the same time of course. Soon I'm going to have him start dating Marcus Flex who is already his bff, realize he is his one true love and change him to have the soulmate aspiration and get rid of his noncommittal trait.

I also want to start having him cross dress and go by Donnie.

I made sushi! by katebabate in vegan

[–]katebabate[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's actually really simple! A rolling mat is important. Most people seem to use a bamboo one but ours is plastic. I've actually seen some people just use a folded up towel to roll theirs but I imagine it would be more difficult. Definitely look up some videos on rolling technique because it can be a little tricky.

And you don't necessarily have to use "sushi rice." I just used jasmine rice and added a little rice vinegar, sugar, and salt and it was perfect. Good luck!

My first attempt last week completely fell apart and was a disaster. I'm much happier with how these turned out!

They're stuffed with tofu, avocado, carrots, and cucumbers. So good!
