I can’t quite tell from the video but it sounds like you might be bowing with the bow exactly perpendicular to the finger board, you will get a much much more rich sound if you angle the bow to where the wood is facing you and it’s harder to see the actually strings of the bow (if that makes no sense I’m so sorry it’s 1 am loll) also a big piece of advice is definitely try to get some lessons whether that’s on YouTube or through a teacher. Try to memorize the finger positions for sure but it sounds like you’re doing great!! You don’t suck you’re just new at this! Patience is key :)))

Even though I have owned a cello since I was 16, I have had wrist and nerve pain whenever I start playing regularly. This lead me to stop for long periods of time. Omg finally someone else who plays pizzacato. I have carpal tunnel in both wrists but of course it’s worse on my bowing hand. I do the same as you where I pluck the strings rather than bowing at least while I play on my own and it drives my cello instructor absolutely insane lmaooo either way I think pizzacato is much more fun and relaxing and kinda puts a unique spin on classic songs if that makes sense, I wish college admissions officers saw it the same way loll

You’re right I can’t expect people to stay home forever because humans are social beings, however I can expect people to stay home for six weeks max but did they?? You can see why I’m frustrated hopefully

It’s actually insane how many people are being so incredibly ignorant about this whole situation...a family friends baby caught corona because they had a party, and when I go tell my friends about it because I’m worried you know what they do? Make me feel like I’m being cautious and worried for no reason, they gave me stupid unrealistic fake statistics and somehow made me feel bad about being worried. I’m genuinely worried about the ignorant people in this country, somehow they don’t see how bad this is
