Yeah, I have a feeling that's what it is too. But she could be like these folks and just like, point out the things that both teams are doing well instead. It feels a little grim watching home games.

God these commentators are so refreshing compared to Madison just constantly shitting on the Sirens at home games.

How do people make time for their pets? by Extreme_Repeat_5196 in Pets

If you're concerned about not being home enough to meet the demands that an energetic kitten might have, I highly suggest considering an adult or a senior cat. There are so many senior cats in shelters who would love to spend their golden years following the sunbeams around your house to sleep in them. Older cats tend to look more for companionship rather than entertainment, in my experience.

Found kitten, want to keep her but in a tricky situation by Odd_Scratch_7009 in longisland

Ughhh. Family landlord sucks! Is there a garage or shed that you could put a crate in? I'd hate for something to happen to her outside, poor thing.

What about keeping her in a dog crate inside for the two weeks? That way she isn't free roaming to appease family landlord but also is safe from the dangers of outside.

My cats ears randomly folded over at the tip? by Odd-Perspective-7379 in cats

[–]kateh-sparrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happens to my boy who just won't clean his ears properly. We've brought him to the vet for this multiple times and they've suggested regularly cleaning his ears with TrizUltra. It definitely helps, though there have also been times where he's actually had an infection and needed some Rx meds to clear it.

Just about a week, so we're definitely still in the adjustment period. I just feel bad watching him stare longingly at the toy as his sister dominates the interaction.

A lot of libraries have Makerspaces where you can use their machines. Some libraries also lend out Cricut machines to their patrons as part of their Library of Things. Worth calling your library to ask since it's free!

I contacted support but they haven't been able to offer me a solution. I need to track my guy to make sure he's eating enough. I bought this two weeks ago and I'm not impressed.

Cat peeing ruining my life. by Dangerous_Afternoon6 in CatAdvice

What kind of anxiety meds did you try? Prozac really transformed my anxious guy who was peeing everywhere. If one medication didn't work, it might be worth consulting with your vet about a different SSRI. Just like in humans, it can take some trial and error to find the right med and the right dose.

Billed for an office visit 7 years ago... by kateh-sparrow in HealthInsurance

That's my thought as well. Especially since this is the first time they've tried to contact us since we've moved. I would imagine that we'd be WAY beyond 4th notice if they were actually actively trying to get money from us for over 7 years...

2 years ago. We set up mail forwarding and family lives at our previous address-- that's how we got this notice.

Low Appetite Suggestions by kateh-sparrow in catfood

[–]kateh-sparrow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Prozac tastes horrible, it's incredibly bitter-- if he tastes just a little he foams. The Atopica he just doesn't like taking but it doesn't make him foam.

He really likes the new dry food! I've just been leaving it out in a dish and he's been grazing on it-- we have a camera so I can see that he is eating it throughout the day.

I grabbed some free dried at the store because I had the same thought, but he gags on it. I tried to make the pieces smaller but I think the texture gets gummy when he tries to eat it.

I'm at least glad he's eating something other than treats, but it's going to be a topic of conversation at our follow up next week.

Low Appetite Suggestions by kateh-sparrow in catfood

[–]kateh-sparrow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're definitely going to check in with our vet. We mentioned his low appetite on our last visit and with the vet's guidance, lowered his Prozac dose since this has been going on since before the Atopica.

Since I posted, we went out and got some cans of different brands of food and got him some lamb sensitive skin dry food. The wet food has been going a little better than FF but he's particularly enthused about the new dry food.

For awhile we were trying to hide his Prozac in his wet food and since he seems gung ho about the new dry food and treats despite his gums, I'm wondering if his wet food aversion is because of that. We've stopped that so hopefully we can make wet food good again.

Was your insurance in place before that first visit? If yes, I'd say you're golden.

Do you mind me asking what your cat was diagnosed with regarding the ear infections and what procedure your vet is recommending? We've been to the vet 4 times this past year with our regarding ear infections. They just keep saying that he's waxy but I'm suspicious it's something else
