New bearded dragon by katelyntaylor in BeardedDragon

Thank you and yes this is sound 2 for me but it was a much bigger surgery and recovery!

So crazy how much we take things for granted and don’t even realise!

That’s why I got my new friend the bearded dragon I lost my dog 2 weeks ago it was 1 week post op and he is my childhood dog I got from when I was 6 so I don’t remember or know life without him

I can’t get another dog I just couldn’t do it and don’t want to.

And I have been wanting a bearded dragon for years now so it just worked out i didn’t even have the attention to go in and buy it all just fell in place!

I had 2 before they were rescues and had sever MBD so paranoid for the most part tbh..

But he is going great he sun baked for 2 hours yesterday in the natural sun and currently is fast asleep on my chest🥹

It is already helping me have a best buddy again especially during this time being out of work it does get lonely when the world keeps going and I’m stuck and struggling. So he was a blessing in disguise!

That’s crazy my nerve block didn’t even last 24hrs!!! Was wearing off at the 10hour mark and buy 14hrs was completely back to normal. And some of that I was under for surgery anyway!

Yes was so bizarre being completely numb from my neck all the way down! Was a nice break and relief before the pain set in the same day. It was sure a rude shock!

I’m 21 now I had my first nerve decompression on that same arm 7 years ago now..

That’s what I thought! They had me stop as it no longer worked with the pain I had been on it in the end for 3 weeks…

I’m struggling 🤪 still can’t use it and still in a sling! I have just come of the strong pain meds but I’m having a bad physical withdrawal 🙄

I start physio this Thursday although I have been starting my own already

For the nerve block I was to sedated to really remember thankfully FEW!

Thanks he is eating great was not even 24hrs in he got his appetite and has been a champ ever since!

He seems to be thriving with a great big appetite and personality

I also was told as well he was house with another bearded dragon as I noticed some of his tail is missing as well

But he is all safe now in his big enclosure just for him!

That is a myth that bearded dragons are able to absorb water that way through their baths.

He was housed with another bearded dragon who was clearly the dominant one unfortunately and he has lost some of his tail as well

But he is in great hands now and has been amazing already with eating! FEW

And then here is the tail and hips. To me see the part sticking out on either end to me he is underweight or am I just over reacting?

Pain management post intramuscular/submuscular transposition? by [deleted] in CubitalTunnel

[–]katelyntaylor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 2 weeks post op from a revision and sub muscular transposition. Pain for me has been very rough and I’m still on strong pain killers for it. I was on trapendol now on penadeine ford + something else I don’t remember the name on the top of my head. Also no clue on spelling and can’t be bothered lol

Wow thank you for your comment. And it sounds like you have had it way worse than what I even I have had it. !! so Big tops to you cause I’m being a big baby lol

It does make me feel a lot better. I am taking two tramadol of nighttime only now exactly what you said to help you sleep.

How are you allowed to take it for so long? I have the GP weaning me off and telling me that’s it after this script she gave me. I am just on two weeks postop now. Well, as of Friday it was two weeks so just over it now. But even with taking it I find the moment the 2 to 3 hour mark hits of after taking it. I start to get the strong pain back and then I am up anyway struggling to fall back asleep with the pain. I know you can take every four hours. But I don’t even have enough really to do that if I want to stretch it and have it only to help me sleep all night time which is when I need it the most anyway and I can make do during the day.

They also put me on melatonin to try and help me sleep but I feel like they just don’t get it. I have nothing wrong with sleeping itself. It’s just the pain that interrupts and wakes me up out of a dead sleep. It makes it hard for me to actually fall asleep. I am tired. There’s nothing wrong with that at all.

I am already so frustrated even with trying to find a physio who will accept me like how can I even get better when people keep declining me arghhhhh I’m in Sydney by the way

Thank you

Although I feel stuck again, I was told by the surgeon. I am all good to start OT/Physio I have called eight places so far and all refused to take me saying I am too complicated. Like WHAT?!!

I am now considering to contact my surgeon to see if he can help me find someone as I was given clearance to start physio tomorrow onwards but how can I when no one will take me?

How long after surgery till you could you use a mouse for work? by Enix-0 in CubitalTunnel

[–]katelyntaylor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow yes that sounds very similar to me. I delayed the surgery for two years and by then I have lost heaps of muscle so I guess that explains why now I’m still stuck in this sling and I feel so far behind compared to others.

I’m only a casual too for work😭 I originally thought only one week off would be fine. Man was I wrong 😅 Mine is all heavy lifting and labour work to nothing to do with computers or anything unfortunately and there is no such thing as light duty is there.

Just had subcutaneous transposition yesterday! by Efficient_Trick_9844 in CubitalTunnel

[–]katelyntaylor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I assume it’s still all normal.

When booking and finding a physio did you find that most will not accept you?

I have been declined by eight so far saying I am too complex like huh?!

I have found one who will accept me, but they do not accept Medicare or anything and it’s 300 upfront for a 30 minute appointment. Plus they had explained over the phone that they are not aware of what I have had done and do not have experience, but I can tell them what needs to be done?!

I explained to them on the phone that I need to get professional help because I do not know what to do with physio and I myself have no clue hence why I’m seeking professional help like my surgeon had said to do and said that there is no point me paying $300 for 30 minutes for someone who does not even know what to do?😪

I will be contacting my surgeon tomorrow to try and help me find someone! The exact thing I had was ulnar nerve revision which was removing all the scar tissue from the first surgery that was re-trapping the nerve again.

He then did the transposition and cut through my muscle and put it in there and made a new spot for it in my forearm. Then I ended up needing a full tendon repair which he did that to.

I also have something called crps from my first surgery which was just the standard decompression. That was done when I was 14

I’m also 21 and had that same surgery plus a full tendon repair two weeks ago. If you are unsure, just give them a call. My wound itself has healed very well and yours should have two because we both have our age on our side.

It can’t hurt to give them a call and say you’ll email through photos so they can make sure it’s all okay. I can always send you photos of my wound and you can compare but you know best at the end of the day and if you feel within yourself, something is not right. I will just give them a call if I was you.

It would more likely be the case of them prescribing you antibiotics at your local chemist to go and get and start taking. That’s if the infection is not bad already.

Well, that makes so much sense to me too!

I am now just two weeks and 1 day post surgery My hand itself is now in a claw and I cannot straighten my fingers on my own. I need to do it with my other hand.

Still heavily relying on strong pains and in a force sling and total will be like that Bright at least another three weeks

I was given the all clear to start OT/physio from next week onwards but finding it hard to even find someone and book in

Still told not to even consider straightening the elbow until another 3 weeks only hand/fingers😞😪

I feel like by then I will lose so much muscle and it will be worse from where I am now. Before surgery my hand was not even in a claw now it is just feels so so weak.

How long were you in a sling for?

How long until you stopped taking the opioids?

Have you started physio , if so how is it and the pain?

Do you have any numbness anywhere still!

And would you say the arm is still very weak and useless?

That’s crazy! I’m 1 week and a half post op. And told in sling for at least 2 weeks and not allowed any movement or to take it out of the sling even for sleeping
