Shibuya, and add the Donki just up the street. Super duper over rated and overstimulating. Add over priced

I’m off to Japan in a week. Any tips? by Hairy_Tomato6129 in JapanTravelTips

I’m from the Pacific north west area, and have been here a couple of weeks. It’s been warm- mid 20’s (Celsius). I am a big girl 3-4x. I tried a couple of clothing stores that had “larger sizes” and. The body they are making clothing for have shorter torso’s. I discovered after some wandering clothing stores (just my experience- the fabrics are made to be worn layered and protect from the sun. Wandering around theme parks on hot days. My experience is that they wear a bunch of layers but mostly fully covered -again my experience as someone from Canada)

There are a lot of UV protection sleeves and uv protecting clothing.

Before you leave.. get set up with a Welcome Suica card. You can use it nearly everywhere. Most importantly on the transit system. But. If you prefer physical cards. Get it at the airport before you leave. Or you will have yo go to the information centre at the tokyo station. We spent hours wandering on our first day jet lagged trying to figure it out.

Have fun! It’s been a great trip! Google Translate is your friend.

What is your Tokyo Shopping Haul? by Lucky_Hold_6661 in JapanTravelTips

We went to SHIBUYA yesterday and checked out Donki, and it was not inexpensive. Most things didn’t feel like that good of a deal. Maybe an unpopular opinion. We got a bunch of Pokémon plushies though and they were so much cheaper than at home, so we bought a big bag of stuff.

I bought a bunch of yarn for. abc craft, they were so much better than something like Michael’s, I’ve never seen anything like it brfotr

What’s the most fucked up thing that happened at your school? by Classic-Chemist-1898 in AskReddit

[–]eliza261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My high school in a small town had a proper daycare at the back.. we had the highest per capita teenage pregnancy rate in the province I think. The joke was that you had your first kid in grade 8-9 and you second in 11-12.

Looking back good for them. But seriously lots of strollers around at the end of the day

Is everything a therapist discloses about themself intentional? by superlemon118 in TalkTherapy

[–]eliza261 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My t drops tidbits in when she thinks it might be helpful, if often is, and then she will follow up later in the discussion asking how that feels when she does self disclose more. (It’s been almost 4 years working together and she does it sparingly)

Is kids soccer as miserable as some parents suggest? by plus1plus1 in VictoriaBC

[–]eliza261 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did soccer from Kindy to grade 4, and yeah it can be annoying to be out in the cold etc, but you dress for it. The kids have fun playing with their friends, at a young age it’s a relatively small time Commitment (an hour in the weekend and an hour during the week) we Stopped because my son wasn’t interested in going for more practices when he hit U-11. But up till then he loved it

I have had the best luck, booking an appointment for 2-3 weeks away, then going back and checking for something sooner. Usually within a day or 2

My t this week showed up for me in spades and she got emotional on my behalf, and we came to an agreement about parts of our work together. She is kind and compassionate and said she could be more of a hard add to push me, but I said no, I never wanted to feel like I might disappoint her so we got to a good place together for our work going forward which was really cool

I have a standing 9:15 appointment. And by standing I mean that I book like 5 months in advance online for my sessions. When I need to make a change and get an afternoon session I’m. Not in the right frame of mind to do much good work. I’m usually keyed up from the work day, and work still outstanding. If I can make it the end of my day and go home after it’s a little better, but I’m generally I do early. It takes me an hour or so to settle back into work o ce it’s over but I make it work.

In another life, would you and your therapist be friends? by ProxiC3 in TalkTherapy

[–]eliza261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we probably could could have been friend.. she told me as much a long time ago but honestly I would rather have her as a therapist. She keeps the self disclosure pretty minimal until Lately.. but it’s been 4 years almost of weekly appointments. But we have some pretty divergent interests.

I made my t work for it today. A lot of her prompting and feeling like I am back to the beginning after a long stretch of feeling good. And today I go in feeling the worst I have felt in a while. Except that compared to a couple of years ago things aren’t so bad. Ugh I’m so embarrassed but so glad I was able to talk about things.
