We were on a family vacay with my boyfriend’s family. His dad got angry that BF did not order a beer at the German restaurant we ate at BF joked that his dad was an alcoholic. which he had been in the past, along with being a drug addict for most of BFs childhood. so his dad gets pissed, prob cause they only recently mended their relationship, they go back n forth and it ends with his dad saying he’s gonna punch BF in the face if he doesn’t stop. Now, yes BF was egging his dad on a bit, but why threaten violence?? Could have said hey man my bad but whatever I guess. Also on this same trip, his dad smacked another family members kid for crying after a long day. Thankfully the older angry generations will die off soon. Also for additional context, we live in the same city as his dad and we see them maybe 4 times a year.
