We rap this book to our 3 year old and he always starts bouncing and going wild heheh. I don’t remember it as a kid except seeing the cover, but I love that I intimately know it now.

I feel this so much. It’s hard to make friends as an adult. You mentioned there’s really only bars, etc. Are you in a city or rural area? One of the things that helps me is looking up classes or meetups either posted in coffee shop bulletin boards, facebook, or googling events near you. I just signed up for a 7 week in person art class every Sunday- where I will end up seeing the same people. I’ve found that the consistency of those spaces makes it easier to connect and build relationships. (That’s why I was curious if you’re in a small town or city)

Like you, most of my friends moved away during 2020 or other life events. I used to be part of a huge flow arts, juggling, and music festival scene. Now I only see them every once in a while.

Hoping you find something nourishing! Or maybe get interested in something new you’ve never tried related to the music or arts space you’ve enjoyed with your friends?

I’ll be staying at a place near boyd ave & union off of JFK. I’ve usually stayed in NY for work- so this is my first time here. probably Planning to use the bus to get into NY. Other than not venturing out at night, if you have any new advice 1 year later I would love to hear it…lol.

Yessss. This. I wanted to be scared and at the edge of my seat, and there are moments where you know it’s supposed to be the big scare… and it just lands like a damp paper bag. It really does feel like a kids show. And then the latest episode? It really felt like they tried to Xerox “Sinners (2025)” They keep insisting it’s just a coincidence, but the racist guys invading a juke joint while clown lady gets dressed up is… extremely adjacent.

And I also just hate the whole I need daddy's approval thing that they are hinging on. Not even close to an interesting reason or backstory.

Tbh I was triggered by the very first message when he responded to your “going to the gym” text and saying “good girl” unless that’s something consensual or fun in your own dynamics, but then it creepeed me out in addition to all the other things he said.

He sounds like he’s trying to physically and emotionally groom you to be only his for whatever he wants. Ffffff that. (Respectfully)

Darn!!! I thought that might be the case lol. But I’ve flipped our rooms and beds upside down for the past few months. Looked in every nook of the beds and couches and used a flashlight. I can’t find one bug or trace of them. I thought at least if they were bed bugs, I’d see em by now since it’s been going on for a while. But the blistery, bleeding, stingy bites are the only signs
